good morning and happy Easter to everyone.
please I need your help. my sin has been stooling since Thursday. though in different variations. initially it was thick and then it became watery and slimy almost after every meal. right now I can't remember the last time I changed a nappy without poo in it. and its giving me cause for concern. its almost like marathon.

he takes cereal and pap which I give him with spoon and I only use the feeding bottle for giving him water which is properly sterilized. initially I was adding tom brown to his pap but stopped when the stooling started. I took him to the hospital yesterday and the did test for him and the result was OK. no infection. I was given ors in sachet to give to him.

I'm just tired and I feel he is losing weight. is there anything I can do. this is someone who only poops in a day. the takes Sma pro, the foreign one as his milk. he is teething because I can see a tooth coming out already. could that be the culprit. he completed his rotavirus immunisation.

in short make every mama.

Apologies I'm just seeing this.

I hope you've taken him back to the hospital.

How old is your son?

Stop feeding him pap. That's the likely culprit.

I decided to make homemade meals for my daughter.

Examples of what she takes:

1. Sweet potatoes+chicken+peas
2. Millet/Guineacorn pap + apples + milk (I make the pap by myself)
3. Ground rice + carrot + milk
4. Oats +banana + milk
5. Maize pap + peanut butter or avocado + milk
5. Irish potatoes + carrots + fish

All these meals listed above, I blend them to puree, add formula before giving it to her. You can try to play around recipes too. Check mummysyum.com; you will get nice ideas

lifted..ands,za..ynie and other mamas, pls is it safe to add little sugar or milo in my son's pap?

please don't add sugar and always try to fortify your son's pap to make it more nutritious.

To sweeten, add pureed banana, apples or peanut butter with ENOUGH milk

Also try to add veggies like pureed carrots, peas, potatoes. Also blend chicken or fish and add to his pap

Lol.. for my son, I was all over the place with all kinds of tinned/packet foods; Heinz, cow and gate, aptamil, cerelac etc

For my daughter, I decided to go organic when I saw links that gave different ideas on food preps and you know what? The diff is really clear btw my son and my daughter.

It's pretty easy I must tell you cos I'm one person dat sees all these as stress but somehow, I'm just enjoying it. smiley smiley

Buy all the veggies (carrots, potatoes, peas). Boil and blend then store in your freezer. Buy quarker oats, blend for her. If you can't make pap, August secrets sells very good pap.

It's also good to introduce veggies to children early. I noticed my daughter never had po.op issues unlike my son . So she's Team Organic Food + Team Natural hair...lol

Yes o, homemade all the way.
We make our oat into swallow and he takes it with any soup on the menu. That's his best meal!
At 7 months I also introduced beans and plantain porridge.

It's a lot easier if you have good power supply as you can prep the foods and store in the freezer. I make quantity of about a week, put in ice cube trays and freeze and put in labelled Ziploc bags. Then you just mix your combo.... Easier that way for working mom's.

In Iboland, there is a strong aversion to carrying your natural hair and nursing your child.
Very strong aversion.

You have to make the hair before giving birth, or immediately after birth.

Everyone, both educated and non-educated warned me against using Aka-Omugwo (Baby Nursing Hands) to touch my natural hair, that it is one sure way to lose your hair fast!

I didn't even want to confirm whether it's superstition or not, I went to plait one kyn weaving then, cos with the way I was impatient pre-partum, I fit slap person wey waste too much time on my hair. undecided

Huh? Which part of igboland please? I've never heard of such. The sudden drop of pregnancy hormone is the likely culprit of hair loss! Just as the sudden rise of the same hormone in pregnancy makes it full and luxurious.

Funny as reverse is the case for me. I always lose hair during pregnancy, and then everything comes back with full force postpartum.

Dear, just ask around. Especially senior mothers.
Ask about Aka-Omugwo.

ohhh, so it's a hormonal thing.
Apparently, there is some sense in the superstition.

I'm not talking about pregnancy though. I'm talking about post partum nursing.

My hair experienced shortage while pregnant. I felt it was the pregnancy. I wasn't alarmed.

But 3 days before I put to bed, I made sure I plaited the hair, no matter how haggard it looked.
It's not my hair hormone will use for experiment biko grin grin grin

Thanks you ma. I have done the pureed banana twice or so in his pap.he didnt eat it well but can eat it alone. he eats patotoes and fish very well too.

what i noticed is that,he prefers adult food more. he loves breast milk so dearly but can leave it at the sight of garri with any kind of soup.

how is fedora and her brother?
