A Supreme Court Justice, Sylvester Ngwuta, was on Thursday arraigned on an eight-count charge of false declaration of asset.
Mr. Ngwuta, who is also facing fraud charges at the Federal High Court in Abuja, was arraigned by the Federal Government at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, Abuja.

He pleaded not guilty to the fresh charges.

Consequently, the Director of Public Prosecution, Mohammed Umar, who represented the Nigerian government asked the court for an adjournment to allow him present his witnesses.

The defence counsel, Kanu Agabi did not object to the request for adjournment and so the case was adjourned till July 5 for trial.

Just as usual the FG will lose this one.Was it the supreme court that stopped the FG from arresting Babachir Lawal and Oke after they had been "suspended" pending investigations? Buhari's government is not interested infighting corruption but is rather against political opponents.

There are several Supreme court justice in Nigeria. Perhaps you have proof of the reason the FG clamped on the Justice in question?

just like they arraigned Justice Demola and lost woefully at the FHC.[b]They have been losing cases upandan because their cases are borne out of vendetta and not any solid lead or corruption case.[/b]They will lose as well.Buhari thinks he can intimidate the judiciary.He will learn in a very hard way.

APC lost Rivers,Akwa Ibom etc because the card readers was not included in the electoral act.The supreme court first gave that judgement in lagos before repeating it in other states.You don't just start harassing Judges because your party lost electoral cases.

Well shebi he will still bring the cases to the supreme court.After all his anbracadabra Justice Onnogen is now the CJN.Lets see how far he will go

@the emboldened, not true! The problem is that the judiciary itself riddled with corruption, just as the other two arms of government. OBJ had his fair share with the judiciary, the same as Jonathan.

Truth is, adjourning the case for that long is unhealthy. It is quite interesting that you, an anti-Buhari, is interested in the prosecution of a corrupt public official under a man you loathe, whereas, Jonathan whom most of you worship and revere did nothing.
