I really don't understand you

He meant "using a Golf 4 shouldn't be for first timers. Look for something less complex"

I'm also a first timer and considering a 1997 Honda Accord (aka bulldog) 2.3L 4cyl V-TEC 5 speed automatic.

Car fits into my budget as a freelancer/student
I'm 22. Would love to keep the car through the period of at least 5yrs moving around for business and till I'm done with schooling. Location is Lagos.

Fuel Efficiency
Parts costs
Common expected problems
What year to avoid
Any other close substitutes?

Been reading a lot on NL Auto section and Google this year, would really need your honest/professional thoughts. Thanks

Bro, but golf 4 isn't so big a car that you'd wanna say it's not suitable for first timers. If I had a better budget I'd go for a 2012 Mercedes C300.

Its 2006 camry, 2AZ (2.4). How about changing these parts 'crankshaft and bearing', will that solve the problem? Because for now, the price of engine is too high to afford.

call me. 08033910382

I will request service and repair history, so have them handy

It is a 4cylinder 2.3liter engine in comparison with newer vehicles, of same engine size not very fuel efficient. Used parts like O2 sensors and catalytic converters to keep the emission low, are almost impossible to buy now, you are stuck with sourcing them online ur self, as no part dealer stocks those parts anymore.

Nice car, problem you will have in the very near future is scarce tokumbor parts... they are gradually disappearing..... i

Parts that fail frequently are the timing belt (easily avoidable) exhaust system, rust on suspension parts.

The first models 1995 should be avoided, they do not come with OBD ports.

Personally I would avoid this car due to its age, go go for somthing newer like a kia rio 2007. You can get a nigerian used one at 600-1M dependent on how clean.

Unfortunately I cannot help with this decision without you..
1.2m is a lot of money, I am sure you might have pictured your self driving a particular vehicle at some point, tell me the models you envisaged driving and then we can narrow it down.

depends on the year of manufacture. The newer models are evil, with expensive parts.

sweet ride, sweet handling, sweet interior.

Parts as simple as a.c evaporator are not available new or toks in the nigerian market.

Toks suspension parts are hard to find, new oem parts really scarce.

Really nice car, but ensure you are good at ordering parts online
Re: ASK GAZZUZZ by Joshuabak: 9:46pm On Apr 23, 2017
Really? That's serious o.. What's the price and any other alternative?

Refusing to start after few minutes of running the engine or a drive . Then starts briefly with injectors nozzles unplugged. Or restarts after it must have cooled down

nice ride, shares transmission with Mercedes.

Nice interior, good looks.

If you are good at importing parts you are good to go.

hard choice.

Both cars are well known for being durable and economical when it comes to fuel consumption.

Both cars have available parts in new and tokumbor variants

So I'll say take the newer car.

Yaris it is.
