The Kano State Emirate Council on Monday debunked claims that the emir, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has spent N6 billion of the emirate’s fund since he assumed office.

At a press conference in Kano, the senior council official in charge of finance who is also the Walin Kano, Bashir Wali, told reporters that the emirate has only spent N3.4 billion since Mr. Sanusi emerged emir in June 2014.

Mr. Wali, who provided some details of the expenditure, also explained that the Emir Sanusi inherited N2.9 billion (exactly N2.895,165,43.77) and not N4 billion as stated in some media reports.

Ordinary Emirates dat doesn't carry out any projects or developments of its areas spending dat amount in 3yrs but yet he had d gut to always open his mouth to question govts funding and expenditures. He's busy living in affluence and showing it off and yet their zombie followers/ppl wallow in abject ignorance and poverty under the stranglehold of religion....

What exactly did the money get spent on? Did the emirate do anything illegal? What is the significance of this? Is anyone going to jail or going to be forced to payback monies?

It seems like the news is incomplete. N2.9 billion are we supposed to gasp or what? These guys need to be transparent that's all I know. Right now designer shoes and cars wouldn’t amount to that much.

The Emir claimed cars were gifts. He also said he renovated money with his own money. What did the 2.9 billion go to I ask again?

P.S Can the political partisans agree on fiscal transpency instead of arguing about which hunts. We shouldn't have blind loyalty to any of these guys.
