etiosa97:Oga did you check out my previous post? I guess not. Let me just address your issue First of all you can't migrate to the United states unless you have someone who is related by blood(A nuclear family) and is already a green card holder or a citizen. Secondly if you were to get a family who would file for you that's good but the waiting time is really long. Back in 2009 it was about 7 years but if you are going to slot in your file then you should be looking at towards 2026 or more (I don't know about Canada) Thridly if you don't have anyone to harbor you over here. Covert Your two million naira to usdollar . You could get to pay your first month rent but certainly not your second month because you would need to get few things. Finally I feel you need someone like who would show you around like how things go on over here e.t.c If you don't have someone to file for you another option is a student visa So if you living fine in nigeria then that's the best for now . Trust me on this those who enjoy Yankee the most are those with white collar jobs Good luck |

What the poster was saying is that - if you haave a "Blood related" family member in the US on Green card or a Citizen, they can file your green card for you, but the waiting period is 7 years before you can actually get the green card. Toppytek: |

Toppytek:Back in 2009 the waiting period was 7 years. Like when your filing gets valid and the nvc transfers your case over to the embassy in nigeria. Year by year the number of people who file for their family members are increasing that's why the waiting period increases also. |

Bossman:ok .. now I understand.. but I think the immediate relatives of U.S. Citizens (defined as spouse, parents, and unmarried children under 21) are not subject to the annual quota. They can get their green card as soon as USCIS finishes processing their cases, which can take several months. .. I stand to be corrected thou. |

The bolded is not entirely correct. The wait time varies by category from 7-8 months if your relative is an immediate relative and a citizen to about 13 years if your bother or sister files for you (based on the current bulletin). Your category will be determined by the relationship with the relative, and the relatives status i.e. citizen or green card holder. Bossman: |

Hello everyone. Am planning to get a student visa to go for a Master's program in Information technology, the course entails of networking, cloud computing and the rest. I would love to know how easy or tough it can be to get jobs as a network engineer or cloud computing in the US. Thanks in advance. |

@franknetter, i dont understand why you didnt just finish up on your medical degree in Nigeria s8nce your mum was already a US citizen and you could always come to the US. Medical docs are making a whole lot of money in the US and it would have been a whole lotta advantage if you had your medical degree here. |
