China lifted 731 million citizens out of extreme poverty between 1990 and 2013.

In the same period, Nigeria plunged 35 million into extreme poverty.

Today there are nearly four times more extremely poor people (those living with less than $1.9 per day) in Nigeria (approx. 180 million) than there are in China (approx. 1.39 billion).
