1961 .
STARTING FROM SIERRA LEONE..

But the build-up has been overshadowed by the state of emergency, declared ten days ago following a campaign of sabotage by the oppositionAll People's Congress Party (APC).The party has been urging that independence should be postponed until free elections have been held. The leader of the APC, Siaka Stevens, was arrested just over a week ago, along with his right-hand man, Wallace Johnston, and 16 other party members. They had been planning a general strike to coincide with the independence celebrations, and it was feared riots would break out if the strike went ahead. The government in Freetown is insisting that elections will be held next year, as agreed under theterms of independence. Ministers say the arrests were made to protect those visiting the country forthe ceremonies, and, they say, there is every intention to release those detained as soon as the ceremonies are over.E-mail this story to a friendThe Duke of Kent has been the guest of honour at the opening ceremoniesIn ContextSierra Leone made an initially peaceful transition to independence. In 1967, the APC came to power under Siaka Stevens, who became President in 1971, and in 1978 made the APC the sole legal party. In 1985, Major General Joseph Momoh was elected President after being selected as the sole candidate. His government was dogged by corruption, and he was overthrown in a coup led by Captain Valentine Strasser in 1992.At the same time, a vicious war broke out in neighbouring Liberia, and Sierra Leone was rapidly sucked in. Ten years of savage fighting followed, marked by atrocities and punishments to terrorise civilians.

So this Government is not planning to increase the minimum wage of Nigerian workers?
How can you claim to fight corruption when workers take home pay is peanut swallowed by a deadly inflation.
#increaseminimumwageofworkersnow#

Go to farm Nigerians! Operation Feed The Nation Mode Activated! An idle hand, mouth and mind is the devil's PlayStation 5 and Xbox Two! What every Nigerian home & abroad need right now is to look inward and go back to embrace Agriculture with gratitude and humility or shamefully like a dog licking his wound! In blood & Sweat, in Tears and Toil, A life outside Agric is a life on the edge, a life heading for the cliff, a precipitating thunder storm by the hints and darts of mist and frost!

Lately, with too many premonition, much of our attitude towards Agricultural practices has been an heist wrapped in spared subligarian adrifting a rock bottom, a befuddled dike outburst and an hog washed. In a proliterated troglodyte pillage of epical ascensions, u lampoon d affluent of privilege in a bumfuzzled Whiffler, a cattywampus flummoxed opinion, gobs smacked mugwump, kerfuffle. discombobulated, nonplussed shivoo, and a snollygoster in a diddly doodly squat. All our circumlocution are befuddled much like that of a wascally wabbits and like a Jacklope with a showdown of belligerent pogrom enveloped in an aboriginal days of infamy. Aside gaming words & delusions, lets all go back the humble path ways of agriculture. Even in the next 100 years from now, it will be the trending business for Nigerians. Remember it takes 30years of Consistency in Agriculture to be a Pro like the Dangote, or Obasanjo that you admire in your wishful thinking of wanting to be a billionaire. Therefore, this venture is not for pack of wolves, lazy vultures looking for free feast sites, and free catch for free money or con, ponzi and overnight money. If you have got no bones in your wings, shoulders and guts, then its high time you have backed out. There's dignity in Labour!

Oga park well!
Even the international media are aware of the unprecedented level of patience Nigerians are showing to PMB's administration. This is simply due to the fact that people believe in him and trust his intentions, unlike the IB who never gave a damn!
Continue to wail, btw no state in my region NW is owing any worker.

In this country called Nigeria, if God does not open door for you, nah OYO.

You started well but later started typing rubbish.

I am here to comment on your point, agriculture though. Agriculture used to be the poor man's job before now but things have changed. People look at it like there will be a Food shortage, (U.N.) or things are so costly,(the layman on the street).

All i see is that the Nigerian economy is evolving from a traditional setting to the capitalist setting. The traditional setting where 10cups of garri is sold for N100 and poor and peasant farmers cannot send their children to school.

The capitalist setting where stems of cassava are sold for a premium price and rich men now carry Cassava stems at the back of their SUVs, lol. A cup of garri is sold for N100 and the once peasant farmer can now place his kids in private schools.

I saw one Pineaaple being sold for N1,000/while the other one was for N500. I am not rejoicing over this but this is a very big encouragement for Nigerians to go back to farming. All talk and no action has been the bane of our development. Paying lip service to agriculture has to stop by force.
