Africans wake up!, We dont have to be the dumping ground of the world. We have accepted their fake diesel, their fake dress, their fake diets, their fake products, their fake gods, their fake customs, their fakes religions etc.

And what has it done for us? Nothing. Enough is enough

Blue3k:
No all the new oil refined has to have 50 ppm standard by July 2017. It's confusing but that's what I think it means. Unless they want increase regulations for import fuel and let domestic producers make garbage till 2020.

European countries explointing weak African regulations to make extra profit on diesel sales. Africans are complaining even though it's not illegal in their country because their politicians were too lazy to update laws. This means domestic oil can be just as dirty and nothing would happen.

The West stands for its own interests only.

It is up to other countries to do the same. But we all know the woeful leaders we have, so tough luck.

Why are Africans importing diesel from Europe in the first place? Who has more oil?

Capitalism is an offshoot of slavery. Whenever this sort of thing happens, its always the colonies that pay the price. This's why I argue slavery is still going on right now.

The solution:

The silver bullet is we need to discard the current system of education that creates elites who consider fellow Africans sub-human and would go ahead to import this type of diesel into west Africa without blinking an eye. Certainly, its not white people that are forcing us use such diesel, but we enslave ourselves using same when we have no governments, scientists, research institutions, working to solve our own problems. Worse is we have to wait for white man to tell us our diesel is bad!!. You see, this type of situation would continue, until we create a new form of education that trains the African mind to understand white people are not better than us and therefore don't deserve cleaner diesel than Africans.

that has always been the dilema.. we send our best to study abroad and when they return, they turn to illiterate backward leaders enmeshed in dirty politics and selfish ends.. 3rd largest proven oil and gas reserves and we still import the shit
No, not entirely illiterate (some are though). But they all still work towards the same plan as the House Negros inducted by Oyinbo friends (read masters) to further the cause.

What good does it produce in this planet to reject anything from Europe?

All I see is foolishness.

Instead of asking themselves why the heck they (the producers) are importing diesel from Europe where there is no oil(except Norway & the North Sea), they are busy talking of rejecting dirty diesel.

The leaders of Africa are just terribly disappointing. Is Europe suppose to sell you thier best oil. Mstweeeeew!!
....Spot on!!..They are busy yapping nonsense instead of addressing the fundamental issues...Stuppidity is a common genetic traits amongst African leaders..

Biafran rebels were able to refine their own high grade diesel to run their equipment 50 years ago and in 2017, white people still sale dirty diesel to us for use in Nigeria and many still wonder why Nnamdi Kanu and his group are gaining popularity despite opposition from mainly Yoruba Muslims in the media who want to maintain the status quo. What is wrong with the black man?
Re: Africa Rejects Europe's 'dirty Diesel' (read bolded parts) by Nobody:
I keep saying this and I will say it again.
We in Africa will never make any progress unless we break all friendly relations with the white man.

I challenge anyone to give me an example any instant in history where working with the white man has helped Africa progress and develop.

Also tell me one misfortune Africa has suffered that the white man has not profited from economically. If somebody keeps profiting from every misfortune that befalls you , you shouldn't have to be Einstein to realise that that person is very likely to be behind all your misfortunes.

It is no good lamenting about our leaders we know they are useless, and they useless mainly because the same white man install them by propping up their stooges and eliminating African patriots that get into power.

Question is what are we the enligtened masses going to start doing on a personal level to counter the white man's evil and allow Africa to develop?

here are my suggestions:
Boycott anything imported from the white imperialist countries, go for only locally produced goods from Nigerian owned companies or Nigerian cottage industries and ancient technology.

Do not consume white man media, or local media that carries news and opinions from the white man's media - basically all our mainstream media is controlled by same white man, that is why they never tell us about this type of scandal unless the white man himself chooses for whatever reason to allow us to know about it.

If we had a government truly independent of white man, we would simply completely ban all fuel imports, as harsh as that may be it would be tough but Nigerians would eventually adjust and the money saved from importing fuel could be used to build refineries and fix existing ones. But of course we know the white man would not allow that and their agents in the NAss will frustrate such policy.

why wont they sell diesel of substandard quality to Africans when africans are known for doing nothing for themselves and waiting on the white man to produce basic products they require. its in human nature to cheat on those who cant fend for themselves. if only africans had their own refineries, we wont be bothered about importing oil from the west or europe.
The way the world sees us as Africans is how they treat us. they (europeans) wouldnt sell dangerous substances to other countries because of enforcable strict laws and regulations. but down here in Africa, anything goes because they know africans are poor & corrupt couple with the fact that if Africans see money, they will loose their sanity and morals
The government agency to create standards and enforce it are still living in stone age. Imagine SON's oil standard for petrol is regular unleaded while the standard for engine oil is API SD which anyone can import into the country. API SD are for cars made before 1979 and that is their standard. Their R&grin is comatose hence they should have kniwn that 90% of the cars on Nigerian roads are from the North American and so their standard should be our standard. All the Mack trucks are gone. Their rotors are all destroyed. Many diesel suvs are destroyed by the high sulphur content in the diesel and the agency is confused

It's the same reason an overseas entity had to advocate for them pointing out the issue. They don't care about most economic, environmental or political unless they can tribalistic nonsense. Funny enough look at proceeding comments blaming whites / Europeans for their laws and under performance.

I have know for ages that we get shortchanged with imported substandard fuel (just like practically everything we import); but the first time I heard the Oyinbos actually had a name for it - African Grade - was as a result of a report I read in an African magazine. So, I believe the move was initiated by Africans; but they know they cannot get results by calling African governments to action (who of course are in cahoot with the shady importers). So they decided to go the round-about way of involving the governments of Europe who are more accountable and who can get in trouble if the matter is blown wide open.

The only remedy to this is to refine theses fuels in Africa ourselves if not I dont see any African country turning back a ship load of diesel because of sulphur content
and when home boys do refine the crude oil,our pro west government will term them illegal refineries and use the navy to destroy them.
