Ladies have no chills this days. I mean, what is the fuss really about? Ladies go to church and believe the words in the bible and yet when you mention that man is the head of the family, they pick offence. What is happening in our world today?

Facebook user, Tina Michelle Obiora, seems not to be concurring to this norm in Nigeria that a man is the head of the family and has advised teachers, social studies teachers actually to desist from teaching students such ‘Nonsense’.

1. a family tree never seems to begin with a woman because of sexism, the same sexism that feminism is trying to erase, queen elizabeth, the queen of england is a matriach and her family tree will begin with her, tracing her lineage cos she comes from a family where the first is heir irrespective of gender, so the family tree argument is invalid cos there are families that have just daughters but sexism wont let them be acknowledged.

3. by your theory, if the woman is able to fend just as equally, she is the head of the family too and if she fends more, she's the sole head of the family.

most ppl here on NL had their school fees paid with joint income by parents, with the mother contributing her own money too to buy foodstuff, then going to the market after work to buy the foodstuff, then cook it when she gets home, the average nigerian mother does more for the family than the man does, a lot of us here were practically raised by our moms with our fathers just being a presence in the house who we love too but he hasn't exactly given half the attention that mothers give. how many ppl here can remember all the times they were sick, which of your parents was soaking towel in cold water and placing on your body 90% of the time, the truth is that the values of the average nigerian is instilled solely by the mother, nigerian mothers are actually the head of the home(if we must use the term) if viewed from the point of view of someone that's not plain biased or utterly dumb.

No it's not limited to the roles in a house alone BUT then again you see ladies who CLAIM to be feminists only when it favours them. Those are just confused bunch of people.
The thing is the world is changing. Sorry to say but if a man in this 21st century still thinks he is the only one who has to be going through abnormal stress etc just to take care of his family, then he's on his own. More women are willing to help are in my opinion SUPPOSED to help.

Hmmm we have female presidents already.. Presidency is sort to be the highest office any one can ever have..., we have women who can and have been successful with raising multiple kids..I believe if humans were hermaphrodites women should be able to surpass alot more boundaries than they think they are

When the teacher says the man is the head of the house.. He or she is simply referring only to how or where or each family member should be positioned.... WE can't give both the man and the woman same position... Rather like the Presidency there is a deputy even if visibly the hardest job on earth is that of the deputies... In reality women do more.. But in a family the man is perceived to be the one who has to do more, who should be doing more.. Who can do more.. Men folks are given that responsibility by society because it's meant to be theirs even if the reality is that the women may and can do more . .. Yes its as simple as that.. I myself have countless defended this opinion...
