What you do not understand is that quantitative reasoning is NOT maths. This isn't how we engineers build robust systems.

My guy Akin's counting method is original and very clever. I didn't even think of it and am quite good with math. Want thing you learn in science/math is to always search for the easiest solution first and if that fails then elevate the game. Your problem does not require "taking squares or any 3D (whatever) methodology. Akin just prove that he can solve your problem without even using a pen or paper not talk of computer.
