Carlo Ancelotti has won titles with AC Milan, PSG, Chelsea and Bayern Munich

Ancelotti only failed to win La Liga, finishing two points behind in 2014/15

As Bayern Munich's procession to the Bundesliga title climaxed with 6-0 thumping of Wolfsburg, manager Carlo Ancelotti celebrated a milestone of his own.
The veteran Italian boss has now claimed the league title in four of Europe's 'big five' divisions.
Ancelotti won the Scudetto with AC Milan in 2003/04, the Premier League during his Chelsea tenure in 2009/10 and Ligue 1 with the might of PSG in 2012/13.

His most recent triumph with Bayern became an inevitability as the Bavarian's Bundesliga rivals fell by the wayside.

Ancelotti's men lifted their five successive league title but which other managers have tasted similar levels of success across Europe?

Jose Mourinho is unsurprisingly in the picture having won the league in every country he has worked.

MOST SUCCESSFUL MANAGERS ACROSS EUROPE (DOMESTIC TITLES)

Carlo Ancelotti - ITA, ENG, FRA, GER

Ernst Happel – NED, BEL, GER, AUT

Tomislav Ivić – YUG, NED, BEL, GRE, POR, FRA

José Mourinho – POR, ENG, ITA, ESP

Giovanni Trapattoni – ITA, GER, POR, AUT

The Manchester United boss burst onto the scene with Porto, before lifting trophies with Chelsea, Inter Milan and Real Madrid.

The Portuguese is the only one of Ancelotti's contemporaries to still be managing in Europe's top divisions though Ernst Happel, Tomislav Ivic and legendary Italian Giovanni Trappattoni also enjoyed huge success across Europe.

But the well-travelled Ancelotti sets the benchmark for well-travelled managers. Having cut his teeth with Reggiana and Parma, a move to Juventus followed and the 57-year-old has found himself in charge of Europe's elite ever since.

Famed for his calm demenour and ability to control a dressing room full of superstars, the former Italy international seems perfectly tailored for a place at the helm of heavyweight sides.

The only blot on Ancelotti's copybook came during his time with Real Madrid as he finished behind Barcelona by two points in 2014/15 and fierce rivals Atletico Madrid the season before.

In terms of the most successful players to win league titles around Europe, Zlatan Ibrahimovic fired Inter, PSG and Barcelona to domestic victory.

Arjen Robben also deserves an honourable mention having found success at Chelsea, Real Madrid and Bayern.
