Dist=0.2m mass=0.5 V=40m/s
V^2=U^2 + 2as. V=0
-U^2=2as
(-40)^2=2(0.2)xa
1600=0.4a
a=4000
F=ma
F=0.5x4000
F=2000.
Ans=B

I think its b
1/2mv^2=FD
Substitute and solve nd ull get 2000
This is the misconception I'm talking about

Elastic potential energy = kinetic energy
Basically what this person said
Amethyst101:

Just worked it now, the answer is C.
1/2 mv^2 = 1/2 F e.

Energy in extending the catapult(1/2 F e) = kinetic energy of the stone (1/2mv^2)
Equate and get F

a rock sample was added to cold dilute HNO3. the gas evolved was passed into a solution of acidified k2cr2o7 and the solution turned green. the rock sample contains?
Pls post your answer with reason.

I'm not sure of my answer. But I know the pituitary is the master gland and the pancreas doesn't stimulate............its just an insulin production site.

Stanley what's the correct answer?

yeah..sorry for taking long..
the answer isn't given in those options,that i did intentionally, LIVER is the right answer.
the liver stimulates insulin production but beta cells in the pancreas produce the insulin questions like this could be missed.

The rock sample contain a trioxosulphate(iv) and the gas evolved is sulphur(iv) oxide which is a reducing agent which changes the orange colour of K2Cr2O7 to green.

Jealous? nah. I'm not a jambite so why should I? I think the lies I read on NL these days is appalling. Assuming he scored what he claimed. why didn't he add a screenshot to d post? at least, to verify the veracity of d claim

A ball of mass 0.1kg is thrown vertically upwards with a speed of 10m/s from d top of a building 10m high.. Neglecting air resistance.. It's total energy just before hitting d ground is?

(Post workings)
5joules....total energy = P.E + K.E but since P.E =O K.E = Total energy = 1/2 Mv^2 = 5J

didn't ask him for any proof because I know there's nothing to prove. if he indeed scored that high, then wish him well, to even score higher in the main exam.
