Chidiebube Okeoma, Owerri


Three gunmen on Friday attacked a Chinese expatriate in Owerri, the Imo state capital , and made away with the N 10m he withdrew from a branch of Diamond Bank on Item Street.

The gangsters shot the expatriate, believed to be a Chinese contractor working in the state and killed his police orderly, who was an inspector during the operation.

Our correspondent was told at the scene of the incident that the foreigner was attacked by the hoodlums immediately he came out of the bank.

One of the sources said , “ Immediately the foreigner was driven out of the bank premises in his black Toyota with the number plate Abuja 723 JR by his driver , the gunmen who were already waiting double -crossed his vehicle.

“ Two of them jumped out of their car and attacked their target . ”

one of the bank staff must have tipped them off. How to apprehend the culprits.
1. Collect the phones of all the staff to see their calls, chats and texts within the last one hour before the robbery.
2. Track the numbers and find out identities of the contacts.
3. Watch cctv footage of all activities in and outside the bank for suspicious movements or persons.
4. Track the plate number of the thieves gotten from cctv
5. Tell the bank staff to confess willingly or face the full wrath of the law if caught through investigation.
6. Arrest the thieves and post it on nairaland

If not for poverty in the force why should a gazzetted officer an inspector for one acting as an orderly where there are numerous non commissioned officers available for that, an inspector who have few years to go. If not for corruption the actual salary of an inspector is big to cater his needs, unfortunately they are being short paid
