Suspects emptied station’s armoury

Ado Ekiti-There was pandemonium on Friday night at Ido-Ekiti, Ido-Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State, when some suspected gunmen numbering 40, invaded the Divisional Police Headquaters located in the town and killed a police inspector on duty during the attack.

The armoury of the police station was emptied by the evil doers ,while the roof top was blown off with the aid of dynamite and the entire police station , including the asbestos were destroyed durinthe raid.

A detective attached to the station , who craved anonymity ,revealed that the suspected robbers invaded the police station around

7.20pm and destroyed virtually everywhere while ransacking all roomswhile all the doors were broken in the course of searching forammunition .

The incident had rendered the police officers attached to the station devastated, as their countenances portrayed that they were in deep mourning.

The source added that the robbers had drove in recklessly through the gate while some had scaled the fence and headed into the main building where the armoury was located.

He said few policemen were on guard during the raid, which he saidmade the attack to be more successful and fierce .

Upon entering the station, the source said the heavily armed bandits rained bullets on the police inspector and he was said to have died on the spot.

“They drove in recklessly and took over the entire police station. Some even scaled the fence and took strategic positions. They shot into the air sporadically and destroyed virtually every room.

“Our suspicion was that they case to loot the armoury because that was why they first attacked after demobilizing our men. In fact, they emptied the entire place”.

When asked whether they came to free a high profile detainee or robbery suspected, the police officer said: “That is not true because nobody was detained in the cell as at the time they incident took place”, he added .

Efforts made to reach out to the Police Public Relations Officer ofthe state Command, Mr Alberto Adeyemi were unsuccessful, as all his mobile phone sets were switched.

But a police officer confirmed that the PPRO had visited the station to get first hand information about the incident.

NPF needs a massive reform.

It is probably the most hated govt institution. Little credibility. They are perceived as devious & totally evil. They represent the worst about 9ja.

Yet there are some among them that actually try to do a decent job. But their work is ruined by widespread public mistrust.

Sorry for the loss of life. However, an event like this shows how vulnerable our domains are. No wonder few 'fulanis' can always wreck havocs as they like. Well, I hope the same energy wasted by the police to harass student union leaders in Lagos recently would be employed to capture these evil invaders.

Did u read abt their effort during attack Lik this or you usually read abt their effort in collecting 50naria..

Or arresting anytin dey c after the attacker mst Hv left...

Hv u gone to police before to report a case that need, dem to cum and arrest a crime..they will ask u of fuel money,money to mobilize, how many Are the Ppl,1 is usually 1k more, 2 2k..etc...before u finish d main Ppl mst Hv left...
