22 MW to grid pretty nice. What's powering this thermal plant anyway gas or coal? Weird the good news doesn't get much attention.

Sounds great the mining sector sound like picking up traction litake by little. Then regulations on the explosives are good idea. Will the government be watching CCTV for these explosives round the clock? I would think company should.

Ps. If anyone has answer to my first question feel free to mention me.
Thermal

We need 175,000mw to achieve stable and steady power. 22mw?
Re: Government Completes 22MW Ajaokuta Power Plant by Nobody: 10:13pm On May 05, 2017
@Blue3k2 Since the thermal plant is in an integrated steel complex then I will guess at blast furnace exhaust gas. But since the Ajaokuta steel mill is not fully up and running at the moment,I might agree with just gas.

When Cameroon is enjoying uninterrupted power supply, yet we say Nigeria is the Giant of Africa...

Mishandling from our governments has blinded us from the world of reality.

This is BIG lie. This guys should stop deceiving people. What do they gain from lies?. I am presently in Ajaokuta. I have much idea about the two thermal plants powered by steam. Each has a capacity of 55Mw ...but they have been dormant for many years hitherto. 3D a company that tried rehabilitation couldn't succeed to run the plants after 3 years of their contract terms. Seems ASCL management took over from 3D company and hitherto, there hasn't been Gas supply from NGC. I wonder how they have generated 22MW of electricity. Have MERCY on our leaders O'God.

These 63 private minerals centers across the country, where are their addresses if these are not political and campaigns talkshuh

We won't take all these politicians lies anymore.
We are tired of being lied to by Nigeria government.

Until the government reduce the cost of living, and deposit N l20,000 into every youths banks accounts every month not just in the northern part and Lagos. Then we will talk.

For now all pictures bla blas up there, are nothing but lies.
They have started their political campaigns for the next round of stealing of public funds.
Re: Government Completes 22MW Ajaokuta Power Plant by omohayek: 11:28pm On May 05, 2017
The only news about Ajaokuta I would be happy to hear is that the FG has finally stopped squandering money on this project, and sold it off to whoever will buy it for scrap. Ajaokuta was already obsolete before it was ever built, and it stands no chance of ever being competitive in today's climate, where Chinese steel manufacturers are severely undercutting everyone else around the world. Throwing yet more government money into this project is a sterling example of what it means to engage in the "Sunk Cost Fallacy".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunk_cost_fallacy

All Ajaokuta has ever been - and will ever be - good for is as a conduit for politicians to steal, the most notorious case of such being Sani Abacha.

Re: Government Completes 22MW Ajaokuta Power Plant by hatchy: 1:25am On May 06, 2017
22 mW my foot! So this gigantic steel plant does not have an independent power plant all the while. No wonder this plant will still be a sleeping giant that can't work.
The generated power is even added to the national(problem) grid.

Scrap this Soviet made steel plant and save us the stress of throwing our foreign exchange in the drain in the name of importation of plants and machineries that won't work for over 50 years now

If you doubt the news
Kindly visit the the official twitter account of the ministry of mines and steel for further clarification and a lot more than the 22mw

I doubt if you know the meaning of 22mw, I am working in a company constructing 2500mw power plant. We are in commissioning phase right now, we rented diesel generating sets producing 23mw for the energy requirement of the plant pending when the both the gas and steam turbine generators will start generating power.

A small town like Lokoja needs about 40mw daily electricity consumption meaning 22mw will be barely enough to power anything reasonable in the country.

Mr man. I know what 22MW is. I'm a power systems engineer. The 22MW was not for national grid. It was just for that area. And i was asking him if his hero did sth like that.

Coz if he did, we would have known because
A. There would have breen crazy amount of money spent generating it
B. During commissioning, it would have been televised live on AIT, NTA, Silverbird. Etc
