Terrorist attack in Almoustarat: The result is heavier


The report of the terrorist attack on the Malian army, which occurred this morning in Almoustarat, a town about 140 km from Gao, has increased. According to the latest report, 7 soldiers were killed, 17 wounded, some seriously wounded, 16 missing, 3 vehicles equipped with heavy weapons and ammunition were kidnapped by the assailants.

A reliable source said the balance sheet could still evolve since two soldiers are still in a coma. The wounded were transported by the French army to the hospital of Gao.

It should be remembered that at one point no communication was possible in the city since the attackers had caused damage to the antennas.

Apparently the procedure was similar to the one used during the attack on the MOC camp in Gao on 18 January, causing the deaths of dozens of elements of the mixed patrols. The explosive charge used for the attack on Almoustarat was so heavy that it resonated throughout the city and its surroundings.

This new attack, although not claimed, bears the signature of the group "Jamaât Nosrat Al Islam Wal Mouslimin", in French "support group for Islam and Muslims" under the leadership of Iyad Ag Ghali, leader of the terrorist movement Ançar Dine. The group, which was formed by a merger last March of several terrorist movements operating in the Sahel, claimed responsibility for an ambush against the army on Tuesday, May 3, on the Nampala-Diabaly axis in the Segou region causing death 9 Malian soldiers, wounded, missing and vehicles abducted.

COAS ATTENDS AFRICAN LAND FORCES SUMMIT 2017 IN MALAWI


In line with enhanced capacity building and military diplomacy, the Chief of Army Staff Nigerian Army, Lieutenant General TY Buratai, is today Monday 8th May 2017, attending the African Land Forces Summit 2017 at the Main Auditorium, Bingu Mutharika Convention Center (BICC), Lilongwe, Malawi.
The Summit which has the theme "Enhancing Capacity Through Partnership in Africa", is being attended by African Land Forces Commanders (Chiefs of Army Staff) across the continent. Also in attendance were His Excellency, Professor Peter Mutharika, President of Malawi, (who was ably represented by Mr. Claus Chilima, Vice President of Malawi), Honorable Mary Beth Leonard, U.S., Representative to the African Union, General Daniel B. Allyn Vice Chief of Staff, United States Army, General Griffin “Spoon” Phiri, Chief of Defense Forces, Malawi Defence Forces, amongst others.
The Summit will feature presentations on; "Critical War fighting and Peacemaking Skills", "Military Leadership" and "Standardizing Forces and Concepts" by eminent personalities and senior military officers.
The submit is the 7th in the series and the most attended Summit with representatives from 43 African countries.

most BHT vehicles are looted from the nigerian or niger army. and not all strikes does av ground impart or visible crater.
