Five members of BHT release for the school girls after negotiation in Sudan n Switzerland

Giles n henry free to have your opinion
In rural NGR we have SSCE who don't speak English and do well in sciences

Don't be ridiculous. Do you think you're talking to a foreigner who doesn't know what is obtainable in that region?

Where does this leave Nigeria with regards to "not negotiate with terrorists" policy most countries have?

politics bro, politics.

this government spends more time/money on propaganda than any other government we ever had.

when approval ratings is low they'll either discover some money with no owner and no arrests, or rush the release of another batch of "chibok girls".

Nigerians are easily distracted by irrelevancies. it's a common ssocietal flaw.

funny how this happened day before the president will be away indefinitely.

Why are they all Black?

I thought the Sudan was an Arab dominated nation (hence the war with the Black dominated south)

Seems anti aircraft guns are now accepted anti personnel weapons all over the sub region.

Most important question all Nigerians fail to ask is; Where is Boko Haram hiding hundreds of Chibok girls after army cleared Sambisa, air force surveyed every kilometer of North East? How can the whole federal intelligence and military machinery not know where so many girls are being hidden and now being released bit by bit? Those Boko Harams who brought these 82 girls out on agreed time, agreed date, to agreed location, where did they emerge from and disappear to like ghosts riders? Are the NAF, NIA, and DSS so blind?

There's vast regions in the north east still uncleared. Unfortunately, there are limitations to the amount of critical intelligence our air assets can gather. Our HUMINT needs to get better to be able to sniff out these terrorists and wherever they may be within the sub region. Who knows how many times our air assets came close but without proper identification of Chibok or another set of bh concubines or captives. The whole sub region still struggles on this whole aspect and until we fix up, these animals can effectively slip through the cracks in our intelligence.

i think the crew survive but with serious injuries, that looks like a victim operated IED which was triggered.the front wheels seems to have taken most of the blast, lifting and overturning the panhard AML. also detached the turret from the hull

Hrmnn and 61stmech will cry for a week when they read this but imo,the little AML60/90 has served its purpose. Time for a larger multi role platform along the lines of the Badger,(I can't find a pic). Its larger, fires a rapid 57mm and can be fitted with an RPG cage for the AFV role or a smaller 30mm when purely APC.

Allow me to lend my voice to this Chibok girls discussion.
I for one believe this was an orchestrated agenda with the help of certain elements to propel the current government to power. I believe the girls are being held in a politician’s enclave deep in a remote location in Bornu. Some may not agree but this is my position. With the way these girls get released in trickles whenever ratings get low for this government, it leaves many questions unanswered.

many of us have seen how captured or killed BHTs look in pics. Well nourished or starving?
Seems they have enough food and water to go around feeding 200 girls and themselves. The girls don't look bad at all. Its probably better bieng in BHT captivity for more than 2 years than a prisoner in the Nigerian prison system, if you know what I mean??
This people no go kill pesin!

There's always a boogeyman available to distract Nigerians from the failings and gross incompetence of the Buhari led regime. So Nigerians can be pre-occupied, and not ask why the country has fallen apart under Buhari's "messiah" government.

Throw out Chibok, as soon as the Nigerian President is about to head out to the UK for another 57 days. This should keep the population chewing on something.

Me, i cross leg dey look.

What a terrible waste. At least the turret can be recovered and salvaged: sad

This is why a MRAP should always drive point.

I have never disputed that the AML is a largely obsolete platform.

I like studying it from the perspective of an antique vehicle, not as a serious contender on modern conventional battlefields.

Please can you give us an update when NAF270 was procured, I know NAF558 was gifted to the NAF in 2015 by NEMA and the recently inducted MI-35 have designated as NAF559 and NAF560.
Prior to that the last two Helios were the one bought by the GEJ administration NAF260 AND 261 so right now there is a gap between NAF261 AND NAF 270.
Hence I plead for an answer. oh by the way lovely pictures wink wink

NAF 260 was delivered ( probably second hand from a former soviet country) January of 2016 while NAF 558 was transferred to from NEMA in October of 2015
