I did the test at 29 weeks and it was negative. the standard practice internationally is to give the anti-D shot between 28 to 32 weeks to prevent any quiet sensitisation. Because the shot is expensive, my obgyn-a consultant at LUTH explained most hospitals/doctors wont bother in naija and asked if i wanted to go ahead and i said yes. So I got the shot in week 31.

Fast forward to week 36, repeated anti coombs test and it was positive but low titre, im a medical professional myself but i double checked with my doctors, this is a false positive cos of the injection i took. Baby doing great, they will check baby's blood at delivery to determine if i need a second rhogam after delivery.

Please @Yestitsme, @Titony and all other RH neg mamas, how did you people go about this Anti-D thing because I am in a mood to fight everybody now. We clocked 28weeks on Saturday. Prior to that, doctors both at the General hospital and my HMO said I have to do Indirect Coombes test to determine sensitization before I can take Rhogam. I just thought its all those normal tests and that I will still take the injection. I just got a call from my HMO doctor that I am not sensitized and as such will not be needing the injection. I told him sensitized or not, Oga abeg i need it and he adamantly refused saying the hospital will not administer it to me. I have an appointment at GH on Thursday but I am very certain they will tell me the same thing if the sensitization test comes out negative too. I am so worried and I am thinking of buying the injection by myself and taking it to the OB/GYN hospital I used to use when I was single. Hubby is here doing his own routine dance and asking me if I am more knowledgeable than the doctors. He even refused to give me money to buy it but I dont care. I just want to have peace of mind over my future babies!!!

Did anyone here not need the injection at 28weeks because they were supposedly not sensitized?

OK..This is heartwarming. I am already on the lookout to go to another hospital and get the shot if the GH refuses to give me. Only problem now is I have to start sourcing for where to buy it. HMO should have given me for free but now that the doctor is saying something else, I wont even bother. Will just change hospitals after I put to bed. I will try and get a supply source before the week runs out so I can take it over the weekend.

When I was preggy, protein was seen in my urine like 2 times. I even did fasting sugar test and the doctor even said i dont have enough sugar sef but someone adviced me to stop using soap to wash my vjay and start using water only and I stopped and started using plenty water to wash it. By the next month, there was no record of protein again till I gave birth. #hope this helps#

Ofada rice is still carbohydrate so I feel that one cooking spoon is still the quantity you should eat. Please the goal is not to starve yourself I was comfortable eating every three hours. If you get hungry eat but eat things won't spike your blood sugar. If you ate like 2 toast with egg in the morning and your feeling hungry in 2 hrs you can eat something like 1 cooking spoon of beans. It's all about balancing

The early days are the tough days as breastfeeding is established and parents try to adjust. My son used to sleep all day, and stay awake all night. What helped me cope was, as he was sleeping during the day, I slept too so that staying up with him at night won't be difficult.
Either you or your mum or MIL or whoever is doing omugo can do chores and cook during the day while others rest
By 2 months he will differentiate BTW night and day and sleep more at night (he will still be waking up sha)
By 3 months your son would have a sleep schedule

Get a prescription from ur doctor n buy from alpha pharmacy ikeja (google it). It needs to be stored very cold (but not frozen) so buy n use the same day so make sure u have a hospital or doctor that will do it first.
Dont waste ur money or injection through poor storage if ure not ready. Its not a hurry hurry something!

Mama, may God be with you, mine tested + a month ago when I was 28 weeks, doctor said I should stop sugar, I didn't only stop sugar oo, I stopped carbohydrates, palm oil, groundnut oil, banana, my daily food were cucumber and avocado pear with water in the morning. Then unripe smoked plantain in the afternoon, oatmeal amala with oilless okro in the night or unripe plantain flour. I went back a week after my glucose level dropped, not only that I dropped 2 kg within one week.

Goodmorning mamas.I'm presently at the clinic for my antenatal.They just tested urine nd it came out it has glucose.This is the 3rd time it's coming out this way.I'l see the doctor soon though,but i just want to share it here and know if anyone has experienced it too and how did you go about it afterwards The thing is just making me nervous.

Pele, I am currently experiencing stuffy nose, but it's because of the recent weather and cold water, plus fan., but I don't mind that's the only way I can drink water.

@kinghazyz the nursing Father. Well done, I love dads like you, reminds me of my dad. My mum and said they both did the vigilante for all of us kids. She said my dad was expert at washing nappy. He loved doing it.

My own is very obvious now, no more small. In a matter of 4 weeks the thing popped out of no where,though I noticed that before I eat, it's not that big. A colleague at work today called me Tipper, I burst out laughing. Will share my bump in 2 weeks.
