That's part of the chassis, if it's bad, vehicle should be scrapped. But in nigeria, we cut and weld.

Honda accord 98 i4, I noticed oil leak over the weekend and decided to fix it. Since I was doing that I also took the opportunity to change my front right wheel bearing which was making lots of noise on speed. The oil leak was caused by leaking seal by the crankshaft.

I Immediately went to test the car after the fix, I noticed that I started having gear slips especially when changing gears from 1 to 2 to 3 to 4. This occurs when I accelerate hard, if I take accelerate up to 2000rpm the gear change is kind-of smooth . Prior to the the fix of that day I had no issues with gear selection/slipping.

What could have caused this new problem? Although I have noticed for a while a little vibration on the wheel just when I hit 40kmph.

The next day, I went back to complain to the mechanic, I told him to check if the inner cv keyed-in well when they fixed the fixed the wheel bearing. He said it entered the gear box well.

Replace gear. Good luck finding 1 that is less than 300,000miles convert car to manual if you want to enjoy it, finding a functional transmission will be a herculean task.

Good evening Luvinghubby and other gurus in the house. I have replaced my gear 2 weeks ago with a very functional auto transmission but there's something baffling me again since 2 days now. I wanted to travel from Ibadan to Lagos, I've not done 20 kilometers when the gear started acting up again. The car didn't respond to the accelerator. It was acting somehow. It couldn't move fast and it started overheating. I had to stop at intervals to pour water in the radiator and wait till it cools down. In short, d mechanic told me d ffg are the issues he feels my car is going through :
1. He said I need to flush the radiator as the car has been parked for 4 years plus.
2. He said there's no oil in the transmission again (the oil I just poured when the gear was being fixed 2 weeks ago and he said there's no leakage). I bought 6 oando 2 oil.

What could be the cause ? I don't want to be buying oil every 2 weeks.

For a car parked that long, replace radiator, ensure there is transmission oil in the gearbox and if low find leak and fix it.

Pls I need help with my 05 Honda accord, I noticed of recent that the backlights on my stereo and AC buttons don't light up anymore which makes it difficult to see the buttons to operate while driving at night. Pls what's the cause and the solution?

Look for a dextronIII. But 2 will suffice without causing any damage.

Please Gazzuzz help! I have a 2003 Honda Accord EOD. The car drives great. The only problem is that the gear oil keeps leaking seriously. My mecho said I need to change it and he quoted 80k to me.
I have a long journey (Abuja to Lagos) to make with it in few days time. I want the car in top shape. I am scared of changing the gear so it does not affect the engine too as the engine is very sharp.
Please advise me on this issue and give me maintenance/ service tips for this journey I hope to make soon.

Mechanic did a shaft job, he was careless, dirt got into the gearbox, now dirt is in valvebody.

and the solution will be to clean the valve body?

Scan first, let's see the codes.

The design of honda transmission does not make access the the valve body an easy 1, you will have to take the transmission down

LX or EX trim? Thats is, 1 or 6 loader?

Is the display visible in the day or not?

Is the audio system working or not?

Both have the same problem and even worst. It happened to my 1 loader (LX), the problem is from the audio system circuit board.


Mine was worked on by soldering a certain part of the board. The 2 boards are different.

Its an EX trim that is 6 loaders. The buttons don't light up at night any longer even the AC buttons too. Only thing lighting up is the LED display. Pls help

There is a small resistor that is bad which you need to replace or jump. R797

Its like a fuse and has blown out. If replacing, make sure its not more than the 2.3A written on it.

You will need access to the audio system circuit board.

Rewire will remove the unit for you then you take the audio unit to an electronics repair shop for soldering. The shop should remove the audio unit from the display and access the circuit board since that is usually their field.

Note that you need skilled rewire to remove that audio system for the first time. Alot of parts come off first because there are screws under the audio/hvac unit. I would advice you dont reinstall these screws for next time. If you replace them, the whole process must be repeated each time you have to repair anything. Alternatively, you can find out from a reputable toks car dealership where they repair dashboard problems. Dealers usually fix everything in cars before selling them. They must have one who does.

The disadvantage is that it becomes more accessible to burglars.
