I don't blame them, the youths are busy hating themselves in poverty, ipob flat heads bla bla, afonja cone heads bla bla........but they foolishly overlook the fact that their representatives are living large and don't give a heck bout them. The money wey dem talk above, no be cone head, flat head, wafi, fulani, and aboki go share am? abi na muslim alone or christian alone go chop am? Emancipate yourself from mental slavery. N.B --- If only u guys know how united they are for the money matter, while you guys are divided religious and ethnic wise, u'll never comment with sentiments. |

Kakayaraznits: Very correct. Nigerian youths should please come together and have a platform where we can make our voice count. For real these old men/women are taking us for granted and spending our collective Commonwealth on frivolities. About time we did something. |

I think we need to raise the stake of getting to the national assembly, our electoral requirements need to change. They cannot be collecting this amount money without meaningful contribution to the nation's development. We need people who are serious minded to be at the national assembly. |

And mumu on the streets and in social media will be killing themselves in the name of political parties and these progressiveless politicians. Maybe they are progressive and democratic in stealing and lying to electorates during campaigns. Very soon electorates will hold elected president/national assembly members, all law makers and politicians like this.

Garrithe1st:The two chambers are important & relevant. I think what we need to do is amend our Constitution & make all our legislatures part time at all levels namely; FG, States and Local governments. This current full time type parliament/legislature is killing us as a nation. For instance, if the current National Assembly were to be part time their annual budget wouldn't exceed 15 billion naira. It could even be as low as 8/ 10 billion! Secondly, the National Assembly must face legislative business and quit prying into other activities such as contracts, employment racketeering, mining licences etc. Thirdly, the sooner we go back to the Parliamentary system of government the better for us as a nation. The executive presidential system is too costly for a country of our calibre. Or we could also adopt the French system where the President is popularly elected but shares power with a Prime minister that is virtually appointed by the National Assembly. I even think the French system is better cos the President won't be all powerful and can't hold the nation to ransom especially during ill health or incapacitation. Just like in our Country presently where the Cabal are calling the shots even in Buhari's absence. If Osibanjo were a Prime minister under the French model, all that nonsense wouldn't be happening. The president wouldn't be all powerful, and the nation can always rely on the Prime minister to step in & steer the ship of State in times of crisis or turmoil without any encumbrances or distractions from a supposed cabal or the President's kitchen cabinet members. A recent example is South Korea where the PM stood in for the disgraced President without as much as a whimper from any quarters including the Armed forces. Enough said, just hope the government that would succeed the present APC (Association of Professional Confusionists) would do the needful by giving us a new Constitution as well as RESTRUCTURE the Federation as presently constituted. #giveusanewconstitution |

I still feel it was a wrong decision to gain independence in 1960. It was too early. Btw 1990 - 1999 would av been better. With the way things are the future is bleak and no light at the end of the turnel |

Osheee baddest, if the presidency can buy spoons, computers and utensils every other year, then national assembly can buy cars too. Afterall the money they spend on maintaining 11 private jets can buy the cars Na.... Open Nass, open NASS, Nass don open ooo, nothing more will be done, in few weeks, everybody will go sleep. I have said it time without number that, we should fight excessive spending in government from the presidency down to the local government... National Assembly is not the problem with Nigeria, but politicians in general, but we no dey hear... |
