Bala Mohammed Granted N500m Bail by DONSMITH123(m): 12:01pm On May 12, 2017
A High Court sitting in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, on Friday granted former FCT Minister, Bala Mohammed bail in the sum of N500m and two sureties in like sum.

In his ruling, Justice Abubakar Talba held that one of the sureties must be a Senator, while the other must be a director of the Federal Civil Service.

The judge added that both sureties must have landed property in the FCT and show evidence of tax payment in the last three years.

Justice Talba also ordered Mohammed to deposit his passport with the Registrar of the court.

Recall that the judge had on Wednesday remanded the former Minister in Kuje Maximum Prison.

Mohammed was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on six counts bordering on abuse of office while he served as Minister of the FCT.

I don't like all these news. Let them bring back all our money. I won't like to tell my children in future that the reason they can't school in Nigeria is because our leaders looted all the money meant for the education sector. I'm Nigerian and wish to do everything in Nigeria.

Let everyone found guilty be made to pay back or have his balls castrated.

It is usually paid to the court as a form of collateral to make the accused avail himself during the trial so he won't disappear till the trial is concluded.
Then if he jumps bail, the money will be forfeited to the govt.

If Bala Mohammed could be arrested what happens to El Rufai who allocated most of the landed properties in Abuja to his cronies and side chicks? This is really a fight against the opposition

hope all these #500m bail that the courts receive are forfeited to the govt on the long, at least as a way of recovering a part our stolen loots. Because we both know the case will never end.

At least, it makes them ineligible for a public office (pending case) as enshrined in the "quostitushun" of Nijeriya.
