Lol. If you are a celebrity, learn to drop your phone when you are feeling cranky.

Anyway, which team him go support for Nigeria na.

Those wey dey take referee do catapult if dem lose match, or those wey dey butcher goalkeeper head because him concede goal.
once upon a time, the English premier league was just d way our league is...developing our league alone will provide tens if not hundreds of thousands of jobs in Nigeria n thereby checking poverty

I don't have problem with him supporting an English club.

Why the insult?
The fan apparently was guilt-tripping him for supporting Chelsea. Wanted him to feel bad for celebrating Chelsea's victory. That might set some people off.

Is he expected to support the local league just because he's a celebrity? That's hypocrisy IMO. I dare say more than 80% of football watching Nigerians don't support clubs in the country. To me, this isn't a bad thing as the league is fraught with so much violence and irregularities. It's not okay for me and these celebrities to support Nigeria League just because it's Nigerian. That's not incentive enough.

Peter has been a vocal and passionate fan of Chelsea for years. If you think he's going to change that to conform with that fan's warped logic of supporting the local league just because it 'looks' patriotic, she's on a long thing.
From Peter's insultive response to the tweet, you can tell he's not too smart in the brains department. He goes "mind your GADEM business" and calls somebody "insignificant " obviously spoiling for a fight with the tweeter.

If his grouse, like yours for example, was about the violence in our local league, pray tell, how is Peter's conduct different from that of some of our local football fans who brook no dissent, always unruly and ready to fight with their opponents ? Dosent his response portray everything that is wrong with some of our local league supporters, per your example ?

Some of these guys need to attend finishing schools with the way they engage with people. The gutter in them runs too deep, regardless of their wealth. You would expect that with their international fame, they would have come away polished, but No.

And, per your example about Nigerian League being "wack ". Once upon a time, Nigerian Music was also wack. It took the support of NIGERIANS, regardless of the trash the likes of Peter put out then, for our music to get to where it is today. Isn't that enough incentive for you and Peter to support our own ? You guys need to think deep.

In your mind's eye just picture a Peter, for example, supporting Rangers or Enyimba, donning their strips and attending matches at the local stadium. Just imagine the crowds that would throng the stadium just because of him. He would literally galvanize a movement for the club that will translate to more revenues for them. The club would be able to buy better players, upgrade their facilities and campaign for honours. Imagine if other celebs did the same thing for their local clubs all over the country !

JUST IMAGINE, BRO !

You people will be shouting about someone's Grammer meanwhile the person you're yapping about is better than you in all spheres of life. As nothing dey to attack, you attack his Grammer. Losers.

if we all were supporting or chasing foreign artists, psquare won't be where they are now.

other african nations ve abandoned their own artists chasing nigerian music that's why theirs would remain the way or level it is.

I listened to one nigeria info FM sports program one Saturday. They were giving us live info on local matches taking place at different stadia.
0-0, towards the end of the match, they gave 3 home teams penalties, which they scored and won.
That's the kind of match u want me to go to stadium and watch

While he might have gone far with his 2nd response, it was the fan who referred to herself as insignificant.
Secondly, you can't equate Peter's response with the unruly behaviour of our football fans. Peter hasn't threatened or maimed anyone with his comments, he hasn't committed any crime. So, how is his response related to the behaviour of football fans? Fans- home and abroad- tend to be unruly. Remember how English and Russian fans clashed at the Euros 2016. Leicester's fans also became unruly in Madrid last month. Over time, football fans have gone over the line. But what usually limits the recurrence of these unruly behaviours is the effective punitive measures in place in these countries. For instance, the Leicester fans involved in the fracas in Spain were sentenced to 4 months in prison. In our league, match officials, players and fellow fans have been maimed repeatedly and it appears no one gets punished for it as they tend to happen again.

As regards your point of comparing the League to the Nigeria Music Industry, you're missing my point. A good product is its own advertisement. Nigerians will support the league if those in charge do the right thing. You can't guilt trip me into supporting the league because I'm Nigerian. The music industry became successful because the right things were done by those in charge.

Peter is a big fool. Despite his exposure he still behaves and speaks like an idiot. If u treat all Ur fans like dis u will fade out in no time. U no reign reach the likes of majek fashek , orits Wiliki, mandators etc. Today they are out of the game . If naija pple choose to listen to only foreign music and invite foreigners to shows like it used to be I don't think Peter will be anywhere near showbiz. Paul wey even Sabi sing no de make noise d way he makes noise. U lost anoda fan. But this one a significant one cos my name nor be small name for naija too.lolz
