Good afternoon mamas in the house.
please I need a candid advise on this issue of mine.

two months after delivery I had this severe pain on my left wrist tendon. it was so painful that to Carry my ds was a problem. I googled it and the condition was de quervain. I and hubby tried so many things like cold compression, hot compression, use of analgesic cream n drug. my hubby is a physiotherapist. but none work. I went to visit an orthopedic surgeon and he advised I took steroid injection around December which knocked out the pain since then. he told me like wise Google that it might go completely or resurface.

And that if it resurface they will have to incisce it to release the sheat causing it.

now it is back with full force even with pepperish pain sensation.
went to see another orthopedic consultant and said d best thing is to incise it.

but my problem now is hubby is saying what is wrong with me that I want to incise dat is d pain not bearable. And I know say not because of anything just dat his profession and orthopedic na cat n dog.

me I want to go for the incision and forget about the pain but am confused and am in serious pain...

please advise a confused mum: zaynie, feddy, jayamama, jazzyjazz,, ahnie, all sabi mamas

and if anyone has had dis condition before..

Hmmm if the doctor says incising it will stop the pain then you should do it. I had (still have) carpel tunnel syndrome after pregnancy. The first 2 months were very tough. In fact one day I almost dropped my son after picking him up from his rocker. I went to the hospital after that. What I'm trying to say is that I'd it's so bad that you can't carry your baby then follow your doctor's orders

Might be too much cold o.
Or irritant like insecticide or smoke from the gen or perfume sef.
Use eucalyptus oil steaming. Also if you can just swioe with hot towel at night, cover the head.

If symptoms persists after 3 days please consult your doctor
Thanks, I think it's powder causing the sneezing, haven't heard her cough again since then.

Hello Momsies in the house, not been here for a while. Greetings to all.
I have a question make una help me abeg. My LO just turned one and she cruises with support around the house with her toes(tiptoe) and I think it's delaying her walking proper. she stands on her own for few seconds but tip toe while walking with support. she used baby walker but I stopped immediately I noticed this tiptoe thing.
abeg make una no send me go google cos I'm coming from there. grin I want practical experience from naija Mums pls.. should I be worried.

btw she surpasses her milestones even before time just this walking.
thank you.

She will walk when she is ready! Every baby developes at a different rate and with walking it has alot to do with confidence which she will gradually gain.

So not to worry. If she is getting to 15 months and still no improvement, then go see a paediatrician.

Please o, make Una help me torchlight this matter

Last week after my son's dedication, he started having cough, then on Wednesday night he had a temperature of 39.2. Since it was very late I used tepid water to clean him and the temperature came down. The cough persisted. On Sunday 2e took him to the hospital, they said to give antibiotics and vitamin c for 5 days. I gave the meds for 5 days but the cough and cold still no go. So I took him back

This time the doctor sent us to the lab for test, he ordered for full blood count and malaria parasite.
Result came back ++ for malaria and traces of infection for the full blood count.
He now placed us on another antibiotics, vitamin c, paracetamol, and coartem for the malaria

Are these drugs not too much for a 4 month old?

Secondly, I fear my son was not properly circumcised. I've been having that feeling for a while so I asked the doctor he said truly there's a little foreskin but that it's not a problem. But in still not satisfied

Please do you mamas think the circumcision should be redone?
I can post pics for better judgement

Then the doctor said my son is overweight at 4 months old

My Sil's daughter was a professional tip toer. She walked at 15 months.
I don't think the tip toing contributes to delay in walking. My lo didn't tip toe and also walked at 15 months.
alright. thanks

Hello Mamas, happy weekend.
Pls help me torchlight this matter. After giving birth last year March, I saw my period on April 9 this year and flowed for 5days but hasn't shown this month. Did pregnancy test, it was negative. Though I'm still breastfeeding, I'm planning to wean completely by next week with the use of bitter leaf as other method is not working
How can I regulate my cycle within one month. I want to TTC by June next month

No warmer dear. Milk has to be stored at either room temperature or cooled.

You can get an insulated cooler bag and ice pack to store the milk for creche. So you pump and put in the fridge and when he is going to school you put the ice pack and the milk in the bag. It can keep the milk good for 24hrs.
Jumia has it for about 1500
@mamas
where can i get icepack online and insulated bag,the one i have holds just two bottles undecided
Preferably a pix of a good one i can buy
Thanks

What i did for my 2nd son that loved walking on tip toes was to buy him ankle shoes (shoes that extend to the ankle). With the ankle shoes, it is not very comfortable to walk on tip toes and it made him correct his way of walking. The difference is that he was already walking when i noticed it. I don't know if it will work for your child.

The LOL after your comment connotes you do not believe one can get a trustworthy maid.

... I count myself as the very blessed few who can confidently say I have a good nanny. People that see the way she treats my boy usually think she is my younger sister. I am blessed indeed.
Not really... Its just funny how she tried convincing me and making d creche look so bad tho...even if dre are trustworthy maids...how will one know... As u said u are one of d blessed few...not everyone gets lucky...even family member sumtyms u CNT vouch for dem...

my dear you can but they are very scarce, and it's best not to test them with an infant. I have a good maid right now but she just cleans and helps with errands. I don't think she's capable of handling LO all day alone. If you have your Mum or MIL close by and they are willing to take your baby while you are at work, then you can get a maid to support them with errands during the day so they aren't too stressed, otherwise, just do creche

MiL is late....mum stays in Lagos...only SIL has janded... Na just me oo. I prefer a creche...I cn mange house work on my own by d grace of God...honestly maids scare me...growing up we had lots of maid come and go...even family members... I know wetin we suffer...but I knw all CNT be d same .... Just that am scared...lol

As rgds weight my son weighs about 8.5kg and he is 4 and a half months. He was 4.2 at birth but he is also kind of long. Maybe the doctor is looking at it based on his height and birth weight. Formula can make some babies big . If you can reduce formula by one bottle and add one to breastfeeding that may help.
The malaria treatment is ok since they saw malaria parasite so coartem and vitamin c should be fine. My worry is the double antibiotics . Please seek a 2nd opinion from a doctor before giving him. Cold and cough these days takes a while to clear . Breastfeeding will also help my doctor said when kids are ill they pass that virus or bacteria into the mom through the breast and the breastmilk subsequently produced comes with antibodies to help the baby fight that illness.
On the circumcision issue if I where in your shoes I would correct it if possible so he won't grow up and start feeling like something is not right with him. My fear is the pain that may come with correcting it .

I think you should do the incision but try and convince him about how much pain you are in. If you have been carrying bucket of water with the hand just stop anytime you want to carry water call him to help. Anything that requires you using the hand get him to assist you that you are unable to do it yourself. That may help convince him you are in pain.

I actually showed it to a doctor at the hospital today and he said even though there's foreskin, it's not that bad. But then he went on to tell me about a 2 month old baby who had to be re-circumcised because it was not properly done the first time.

Jazzyjazz thank very much for the response.
as for your baby peepee. it is not that bad infact not bad.depends on the person that did it

my sisters and friends that had male baby are always jealous of my boy circumcision cos it was very neat. the ring type.

all of them also did d ring type for their boy but wasn't as neat as ours infact my nephew own is exactly like ur baby's own but she is not bothered. keep calm mama. but if you are not satisfied you can opt for correction on time.

Jaysmama thank you very much. I love that your suggestions. will try it.

dh was Even telling me he saw the consultant that attended to me and the man was like we didn't see your wife. is she afraid of injection or incision.

Make all these doctors dey fear God oh, 2 bottles of antibiotics in a space of 2weeks for a 4 month old baby, even for older children it's too much, the coartem will clear the cough, cos d cough is as a result of the malaria.

As for the weight, it's just baby fat that they will eventually shed off, my dd weighed 7.5 @10 weeks, I am sure when we go for her 14th week next week she will add more.

As for d circumcision, it doesn't look good to me, but since he is a baby, by the time he grows up, the skin round it might adjust, that is, look well rounded and smooth, I don't know how to put it, look good in the eyes sha

Mama about this rota virus vaccine your points are very valid. In fact it's not compulsory to vaccinate kids some parents in the USA don't believe in it at all.
If you talk about naija government and their policies the vaccine is expensive is why it's not being given at local health centers . The government is not ready to subsidize payment for it.
Vaccines are also not 100 % foolproof. My first took measles vaccine but eventually had measles but it wasn't as bad as it could have been if he had not been vaccinated. It is well may God protect our kids from sickness vaccinated or not.

Lagos state govt plan on introducing ROTA 4 all in 2018.
So many children r down with diarrhoea.... so many n its very intense.
Atleast thats wat the matron told me wen i asked about ROTA.
