The rankings were developed using NBS data. NBS does not have the data online, you will have to request for it. The survey of the states have only been conducted once and were released in 2012. OkoNDOoBo: |

Below is the actual childish and unintelligent reasoning that led them to the silly and flawed assertions and chest beating. Anambra is the 4th largest economy in Nigeria all because of somebody's silly casual evidence and fantasies, not facts. ![]()

[quote author=deomello post=56845918]The same rubbish you posted said there is no reliable data on the size of Anambra's GDP, but you are here shining teeth and embarrassing yourself over what the article itself labeled unreliable. What is wrong with you people? [/quoteTypically, economists use GDP per capita as a proxy for a country's standard of living, but as International Monetary Fund head Christine Lagarde, Nobel prize-winning economist Joseph Stiglitz and MIT professor Erik Brynjolfsson noted at the recently, "GDP is a poor way of assessing the health of economies of states and countries

aribisala0:of the truth a poor man cant pretend forever so also a rich man. the states are petrol dollar dependent but some states are blessed with functional industries and SME's most of the states steal their IGR, they under declare it to avoid being charged for corruption. some states dont declare their IGR yet they are up to date on workers wages while some declare bogus revenue, yet are an apology. it is unfortunate for anybody to believe that Ebonyi, Abia, Enugu or Imo have a better GDP. What are the indices used? it is also funny to compare kano with kebbi. Anambra's case is true and with transparent governance they will go places deposits in banks are products of business transactions pls there is a CBN study on it. The stock market aint for dreamers or the poor but for coys and bourgeoisie. do you know the informal shoe and garment industry is a 50 billion dollars industry? we cant continue to deny the obvious for primordial reasons |

deomello:Since the institution of GDP figures and country rankings, other measures of the quality of life have appeared. For example, The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development annually issues a report based on a study of 140 countries, indicating the levels of happiness in those countries. For at least the last decade, European countries such as Denmark, Finland, and the Netherlands and other countries such as Canada, Australia and New Zealand have ranked at the top and the U.S. has not made the top 10.

On GDP Denmark, which got the highest score, is not only a wealthy country, it's also highly productive with GDP per capita of $68.000 (U.S.) according to the International Monetary Fund. In contrast, the U.S. GDP per capita was $47,335. But wealth alone does not bring the highest happiness score, according to the report. Norway had the highest GDP per capita at $98,822, yet it ranked 19th, not first. On the other hand, New Zealand, which was ranked 8th, had a GDP per capita of $30,556. |
