Look here, you can parrot that nonsense a billion times if it makes you sleep well at night. Unfortunately for you, even Soludo can't and didn't back up his claim with verifiable facts nor data in order to give it any iota of credibility. It's just ike Sanisi saying Kano's economy and GDP is bigger than Lagos. On what basis biko? What and where are the indices that validate such assertion? Or are we supposed to just accept his word coz he's from Kano (or Anambra in soludo's case)? Or coz he's an ex-CBN governor? Look here, it's obvious you people are fanatical about your state and its potentials, but be mindful that you can't just come here and serve us poo /faeces while calling it Nkwobi. Lai lai, we no go chop am.

Agriculture which accounts for more than half of our GDP. YOU may not like the truth but that changes nothing.
If Katsina is so bubbling because of Agriculture then please tell me why a far majority of the people there are very poor considering the fact that Agriculture is a labour intensive industry?

Re: Anambra, 4th Largest State GDP In Nigeria by FKO81(m):
2017 SWOT Analysis: Ingredients for the New Start-up State
Wealth creation in the world will continue to be driven by skills and technology. Old money –based on brick and mortar – especially derived from low value-adding activities (rents, primitive accumulation, informal/underground and criminal economy, and wealth from primary commodities) will continue to suffer rapid destruction and replacements. As mega cities emerge; populations moving faster than before, and ICT/ robotics replacing much of human labour, only those who PLAN, and continuously innovate and adapt will survive.

Is Anambra fit for purpose to prosper in the evolving world? Anambra state, with 4,887 sq km of land mass, is Nigeria’s second smallest state (after Lagos state— It also has the second highest population density after Lagos state. With 60% urbanization rate (again, second only to Lagos), Anambra will, over the next 50 years, no doubt become one mega city—with a population approaching 20 million! It is strategically located to become a commercial and industrial hub—with boundaries with the North through Kogi, South-South through Delta and Rivers, and the South East through Abia, Imo and Enugu.

Its latest population estimate is over 5 million (10thmost populous state in Nigeria). It is estimated however that over 50% of Anambra indigenes (perhaps more than another 5 million people) live outside of the state— in other states in Nigeria as well as outside of Nigeria (all constitute the Greater Diaspora), whereas the state attracts a diversity of immigrants from all over Nigeria and the world. Anambra is indeed a home for all. In literally every village, ‘non-indigenes’ are becoming a significant share of population at home— especially those hired as security guards, and Okada drivers. Onitsha, Nnewi, Ekwulobia, Otuocha, Ihiala, Umunze, Awka, etc. have become rapidly urbanized. In 2006, I asked if there were white people living in Anambra as an index of a modernizing state.

Anambra’s economy is 4th among the states – after Lagos, Abuja, and Rivers. Currently the majority of the population are engaged in distributive trade, agriculture, transport and services, real estate and construction, micro, small and medium industries, mining, financial services, and other services (health, education, law, etc.), entrepreneurial acumen of the Anambra people. Onitsha was and perhaps still is, the largest commercial market in West Africa. The natural resources include: natural gas, Crude oil, Bauxite, Kaolin, Salt, Gypsum, Lead, Lignite, Limestone, Iron ore, is arable for Oil palm, Corn, Rice, Yam, Cassava, Tomatoes, cocoyam, etc. Tourism potentials remain untapped. Adult literacy is over 80% and there are five universities (soon up to seven), a polytechnic and two colleges of education in the state.

A noteworthy feature of Anambra state at the moment is that it is a net exporter of capital. A large proportion of its most talented/skilled indigenes live outside of the state, while a larger proportion of invertible capital is deployed outside of the state. Poverty incidence in Anambra used to be the lowest mainly because of remittances by its Diaspora. Access to bank credit is relatively low. For example Anambra has the 4thlargest bank deposit (after Lagos, Abuja, and Rivers) but the size of bank loans granted to businesses in Anambra is a very small proportion of the deposits

So far so good... Anambra e-warriors have failed to substantiate their claims that anambra has the 4th largest GDP in Nigeria..

See, this is 2017 , you can't be making claims without proofs. ..IGR is one of the economic indices used in calculating GDP but anambra has failed to release their IGR data for whatever reasons known to them..

The article itself on sunsnewoline was written by a former commisoner of information in anambra State not from NBS or CBN. It was definitely a sponsored article.. .

See, we know election is coming up soon in anambra, and Obiano needs all these propagandas to win just like the ugwu scam.. .but they should please restrict these propagandas to their anambra forums on facebook or better still take it to igberenews. That's where you will find people bereft of intelligence or deep thinking that will believe this hogwash.. Atleast we have people in igberetvnews that believed Russia came to nkpor to buy helicopters and also people that paid for biafran passports with the belief that it will take them to Spain, Malaysia, Indonesia etc.

I'm not saying we don't have airheads here on nairaland, Atleast we had those that believed Donald Trump will attend the burial of Bennett offor at iraffite..some even believed the ugwu scam here.. Infact some said Donald Trump will declare biafra.

Clearly you are an illiterate and do not know the meaning of GDP.What has GDP got to do with poverty. ?Please go back to your shade or maybe you want to go and make a bank deposit?

list of heavily indebted states are Osun, 12 months; Kwara, 11; Bayelsa, 7; Ondo, 7; Ekiti, 6; and Oyo, 6. Others are Benue State, 4 months; Nasarawa State, 2; Abia, 2; Imo, 2; as well as several months of unpaid allowances and Ogun State, which owes over six months of unremitted deductions from workers’ salaries for cooperatives, union dues, among others. This revelation came as Organised Labour accused the Federal Government of owing civil servants a whopping N290 billion promotion arrears, lamenting that all efforts at making the government pay had not yielded any positive result. Giving an overview of the salary situations across the states, Secretary-General of Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, ASCSN, Bashir Alade Lawal, told Vanguard that some states were still defaulting in payment, in spite of the huge bailout received from the Federal Government. He said: “Osun State is owing one year, Ekiti is owing six months, Oyo is owing six months, Ondo is owing seven months; Beyelsa is owing seven months; Abia, two months; Benue four months; Kogi 15 months; Nasarawa three months. ‘’Ogun can claim it is not owing but it is not paying deductions from workers’ salaries in some cases, six, seven, eight months. They are only paying net, not gross. So, if you have paid net and you have not paid all deductions, you have not paid full salaries. ‘’As at today, Anambra is not owing

Dude, you are obviously delusional. Lol. List? What list? Compiled by which authority? By what benchmarks or indices? Soludo is in no position to decide any list in this respect so he lacks the credibility to be taken seriously. Of course it's easy to see why your likes would get all excited about this nonsense.
