Nice move
UI is very smart..

It is obvious Pharmacy is no more lucrative in the West as everyone there either patronizes Agbo, herbalists, Alfas, Mallams, Prophets or Chemists.
Why are you pained? Is it anybody's fault that you couldn't cope in pharmacy school

Now please enlighten me... why should the department get accreditation from that society and not NUC, bearing in mind that those society members were trained by this same department in same/another school? Kindly enlighten me. Thank you

The Nursing and midwifery council of Nigeria is the regulatory body of Nursing profession in Nigeria. It is a parastatal of the Federal ministry of health and also responsible for the training, regulation, licensing and supervision of all nursing activities in Nigeria among other functions.

Nursing departments may have NUC's accreditation to run the programme in the universities, that is, they met NUC's requirements to run such programme. However, such department may not have NMCN (regulation and supervision) accreditation to run the programme because they did not meet the requirements of the council.

One may graduate from the department with a degree in nursing science but such individual will not be called a nurse because he/she has not written the professional exams conducted by NMCN and doesnt have a practising license. Same applies to Medicine and surgery, if they don't have Medical and Dental council of Nigeria's accreditation, you can't run a medical programme in such school.
In a nutshell, Nursing departments requires two accreditations; one from NUC and the other from NMCN. You have to have both accreditations before you can train and graduate professional nurses.

I hope you got my point. Damn I hate to explain this

That must be the reason why a 5 year programme exceeds 8 years and nothing good has recently been coming from the institution except echo of industrial action. A UI is ten time better than any OAU.

I do not expect anything less from a Uites. We sympathize with you folks on this huge loss/blow. We expect that soonest, perhaps when you give honour to whom it is due, you shall have your faculty re-accredited.

I will not come here to say OAU is the best Nigeria can put forward. Far from it. A lot of things below average are obtainable there. Take a look at South Africa Unis and you'll weep for your dear country. My point is this: in the midst of blind men, a one-eyed man reigns!

Stfu! Ui is by far a better Institution than Oau....Like we havent seen that sty you guys stay in.

When people compare Unis, there has to be a basis for doing that. We are talking about academics here and the highest decision making when it comes to approval of courses in our Ivy leagues has come with the message: You don't have what it takes to run this programme; stop doing so fraudulently.

I hope you know d implication of NUC action were it to have been a private Uni? Go ask the likes of Lead City

Another sick looser on the loose! For mentioning my mother, I know how worthless your mother is and how uncultured you are and ultimately how small your thinking faculty and probably your fathers joystick is! He made a mistake investing his time in making such a crybaby like you!

If you quote me again, I'm going to take my time to further school your sorry ass! Ode! Ewu!

Never been to UI before, I am an Akokite but it disturbs me whenever OAU students make undue noise over the ruins of a university that may have once been prestigious. What the hell is wrong with you guys? All institutions in this country today aren't worth the hype they get daily. As much as UI is a huge disappointment on the issue at hand, Ife is not better. Unfortunately, every student and alumnus think his institution is one-eyed and others are blind. This would take us all nowhere.

I have stopped foolish comparison of institutions for a long time now cos I've found out it wouldn't save us from the half baked graduates being chunked out yearly. Let's collectively demand fund from out government to aid our institutions and that's my submission.

I'm still waiting for your mention. I want to know the excuse you will for the so called "Oba Awon University" to lost their accreditation for Law, Dentistry, med rehab and even ordinary botany. You were here last year hating on UI for losing their accreditation for pharmacy. Now OAU has lost for four courses mostly top courses. I will end with this quote of yours "In the midst of blind men, one eyed-man is the king" I think you should know the king now. Reply me, don't disappoint me oo
