Amosun Commissions $100m Factory

To Provide 3,000 Jobs

Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has called on corporate organizations in the state to collaborate with the government in the area of infrastructural development.

The governor stated this recently while commissioning a $100m factory owned by Hayat Kimya Nigeria Limited in the Agbara axis of Ogun State.

Describing Ogun State as the investment destination of choice in Nigeria, Governor Amosun said the Turkish factory has the capacity to generate over 3,000 direct and indirect employment.

While assuring that the state government was not resting on its oars in the area of infrastructural development, Governor Amosun informed that contractors have been mobilised back on the Agbara-Atan road which leads to the factory.

He added that the Ogun State government would continue to provide enabling environment for businesses to thrive.

In his remarks, Managing Director of the company, Mr Hakan Misri, said the establishment of the factory in Ogun State reflects the Turkish confidence in the resilience of the Nigerian economy.

He also appreciated the Ogun State government for creating the enabling environment for the company to operate.

Signed

The question should be why is it that foreigners make ogun state their first destination for investment?

Many America companies are owned by foreigners. Ogun state creates an enabling and conducive environment which surely guarantees good returns on investment.

What manner of ignorant, stvpid and bad-belle talk is this?? If una don't want FDI that is una own wahala, as for us we welcome them and will never reject them. Why is Canada FDI so high? Why are Germans and Americans vigorously courting billion dollars investments from the Chinese especially? Why is Dubai not complaining about FDI? It's not Ogun's fault that foreigners can't resist her allure and opportunities. The more the merrier sef, and you ain't seen nothing yet. Land still boku in our region to accommodate even more FDI that we are even anticipating sef. Ogun is on cruise-control while you lots continue to sink and drown in your own bad-belle and envy.

a welcomed development, At least it's better than building an hotel for 3bilion, hotel that will only employ 40 staff, compared to a factory that employs 100 and above staff.

So 50 years after independence, we cannot produce our own tissue papershuh

I have also said it before, we need recolonization! The lessons we learned from them have either faded or maybe we didn't learn anything at all.

Before you quote me to say rubbish, tell me one thing Nigeria has ever done right since the white man left, tell me one value we have ever added to this nation since we became independent undecided Otherwise, I won't respond to you

It is not our fault that ogun state is attracting foreign investors which is due to proximity, large market, infrastructural development, good government incentives, condusive environment( security, etc).

Between there are indigenes of SW who owns companies in ogun state. Take for e.g Coleman wire and cables, Honeywell, Premier paints, Dulux, etc. The number is huge mehn!.

$100 million, and look at what we got. Imagine our politicians setting up such investments with their looted funds as opposed to stashing them outside the country or investing them in stocks of already developed economies.. cry

Foreigners depend on alot of imports for machinery and semi finished raw materials
Lagos is pretty expensive and choked for space so they jump to the next available space...please don't get too excited there's really nothing special just proximity to the ports.

Tell that to Amosu and his clown hat
