Some southerners especially those that didn't attend northern Universities under rate NORTHERNERS... Go to ABU ,BUK, UNIMAID, UDUS, ATBU or ask your southern brothers schooling there NOT those serving(Corps members) in villages. How sound are the northerners academically? |

[quote author=Batifeori post=56969552]How I wish I am a Northerner. I always wish I am one cos I love them whole-hearthedly. Infact I chose katsina and gusau last year as my school of choice cos I have this believe that "HAUSA NO DEY GO SCHOOL",but to my highest surprise,I was left drooping when I saw them trooping out in thousand(s)for admission screening, with good o'level result and good jamb score. I was denied admission cos they(Northerners)bested me in jamb score and in all ramification. I still chose ABU,zaria this year, with jamb score of 285 to study political science cos I want to be among NORTHERNERs,and become one myself. May Allah help us all. [/quote ABU polz........good luck oh, dat is where you'll find about the most terrible set of lecturers in the faculty of social science. good luck again |

matex97:Bros your question is condescending but I can easily see you are mightily ignorant. It's almost pathetic that you are asking this question. I will just give you just a little insight Who gave you the numerals you use today? Ever wondered why they are called Arabic numerals? The word ALGEBRA is from the Arabic word AL-JABR and Ibn Musa Al-Khwarizmi (780-850AD) is the Father of Algebra . And through this he revolutionalized mathematics and made possible our advances in computer science today. Abu Yusuf Al Kindi(801-873 AD) known as the Philosopher of the Arabs was a Muslim /Arabic mathematician, Physician, musician who advanced cryptography. Ibn Khaldun (1332 - 1406 AD)is called the Father of sociology. I hope you know why I am giving you the dates of the lives of these venerable scholars? I know you don't know. The word chemistry is from the Arabic al-khimia . Think about that for a moment. . Alkaline also is an anglicised version of an Arabic word and as are so many other English words you do not know. Of course you do not know that it was through the Arabs that Europe received once again the torch of knowledge (science, medicine, astronomy, sociology, philosophy, mathematics, chemistry, architecture, poetry, literature) which the darkness of the dark ages had removed from the hands of the Europeans. And that is why I gave you dates because as at the time this scholars were lighting up the Arab and Islamic world, Europe was mired in darkness to the extent that an historical epoch called the dark ages was designated as a distinct marker for that period. You do not know that the oldest university in the world is in Fez in Morocco. (859AD) Just like we owe the ancient Greeks alot in all branches of knowledge so too do we owe the Arabs if not even more for they went even further than the Greeks and bequeathed to humanity a rich and inexhaustible trove of knowledge. And all of the above was made possible because of Islam for before the coming of Islam the Arabs were pagans worshipping idols and were fragmented into different warring tribes in the period known as the jahiliyah. Islam brought them out of darkness, unified them and gave them civilization. Of course you still would not know that the saying :Seek knowledge even if you have to go to China is an Hadith of the Prophet Muhammed. Travel, read about other cultures and broaden your perspective.( I guess you are the little boy in your dp) Pardon my condescending tone. Had to give it to you that way. And for the record I am not a Muslim. Formerly a Christian but no more. I detest all religions. But the above are the facts. Cheers. |
