In my opinion, the numbers conform with what we have seen from photos and reports from the Presidential arms committee set up by this administration.

Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by Nobody: 6:28pm On May 30, 2017
There was a time the South African armed forces wad mote powerful than the armed forces of the rest of the continent combined. The residues of that once powerful military industrial complex is still evident. NATO wont try that crap they did with Libya and destabilize the region if such an armed forces exists.

You realise these are brand new Jf-17's not second hand. Nigeria is no more in the business of buying usef products. Our new airframes from helicoptet gunships to Drones and fighter jets are being built anew. Be prepared to wait. We ordered 12 new Mi-35 M for over a year now. We've only received two.

are planes ships? Why should it take too long to build these planes? I was told that to get a new 34, it will only take about 2months. Why should a less sophisticated 17 take more time to build? So to get all 40 units of the 17, we have to wait for 40 years? And i really hope the NAF leadership is still thinking about getting us some of the Sukhoi series?

It was released around 2015 by PDP when they said GEJ didn't buy any weapon.

everything is wrong with a trainer being used in combat roles. its not right it only shows that the air force is unserious with its defense.

At the maximum a trainer can only carry two 250kg bomb with two rocket pods. with that bombload how many aircraft or how many sorties do you think you would need before you put an enemy base out of commission?

.
NO wonder some country battle insurgents for donkey years because of improper use of systems.

.
A trainer is A TRAINER irrespective of the bells and whistles.
Then nuclear armed South Africa used it's LEAD-IN fighters in secondary combat roles.

Racks enable more loads to be carried.

Nigeria is waiting for the twin seater version. It just finished trials few weeks ago. I guess that's the issue. I doubt manufacturing a SU -34 will be 2 months.

40 units? Are you kidding me? Two squadrons of the JF-17 were ordered...thats barely 24 plus 3 trainers. Also you gotta realise we stuck to the Alpha jets and F-7's because it was a familiar platform for pilots. Who is gonna fly the planes? It takes at the very least 14 months to train ONE pilots to fly a 4th Gen pilots. If you think you can built 30 new Jf-17's and assemble 3 suadrons of qualified pilot under a year or two...then i dont know what to tell you.

A Mine Resistant Vehicle flipped over but largely intact. The Sambisa forest is laden with thousands of mines.

whats u with the twin seater? How is it better than the single seater? American fighters are never twin seaters, yet they are rated very highly. For me, a single seater would be better, as fewer service men would be expended in war.

And what block are we getting? I would prefer the blockII and III. The ones with twin tails.

I don't know how it works with military jets bit nemesis2u once said since Nigeria is waiting for the twin seater, it's possible they're currently bring trained with Pakistan F16. He however made mention of Pakistan having limited amount and won't want to strain the aircrafts.

I know a NAF pilot in training in the US, who flies F16. So I guess they should be familiar with the platform already.

US operates twin seater aircrafts such as the F/18 E/F.

I actually prefer the single seat version too. Since Nigeria wants a large amount of the jf17, I guess the double seat variants will be used to train some pilots in Nigeria.

About the block we're getting, I think block 2. Block 3 is still in development.

What I want is one squadron of J10 and one squadron of j17.
I love that J-10 so much.

what stops you from doing it simultaneously? If it is possible to train that number of students in a foreign language that is totally distant from anything they ever knew, why should it be more difficult train the same number of some fast learners in that platform in the shortest time?
