NNAMDI Kanu, Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, has again flouted another term of his bail conditions granted to him by the judge presiding over his trial, Binta Nyako.

Mr. Kanu, who is facing charges of treasonable felony at the Federal High Court in Abuja has been at the vanguard of the call for an independent Biafra republic from the Nigerian state.

The bail is the first since the commencement of his trial for alleged treason.

Nyako granting Kanu bail, said he is to produce three sureties with N100 million each.

Nyako ruled that Mr. Kanu must never be seen in a crowd of more than 10 people.

“No interviews and no rallies,” said Mrs. Nyako, threatening to revoke the bail if any of the terms was breached.

On Sunday, Kanu, flouting his bail term, addressed a crowd of supporters – on the occasion of the Shabbat, a Jewish religious programme – numbering more than 10, in his father’s compound in Abia State.

His group, Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, had declared May 30 as sit-at-home protest to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Biafran war, alongside those who lost their lives in the process.

On Tuesday, Kanu, flouted another of his bail conditions by granting Al-Jazeera an interview in his father’s house in Umuahia, the Abia State Capital.

“I don’t care. I can’t go outside to call for a press conference. I can’t go on Biafra Radio to broadcast. I can’t allow large [groups of] people to basically congregate outside to see me…it’s like asking me not to breathe,” he said.

He also hinted on why he is demanding for the secession of Igbos and the entire South-East from Nigeria, citing marginalization.

“I’m not allowed to contest for the presidency of Nigeria because I’m Igbo. I’m not allowed to aspire to become the inspector general of police because I’m Igbo.

“I’m not allowed to become chief of army staff because I’m Igbo. What sort of stupid country is that? Why would any idiot want me to be in that sort of country?” he questioned.

The prisoner has acquired enough reasons to be remanded at Kuje forever.

The govt has more than enough reason to keep him for as long as necessary once he's taken in again.

I know he's obviously frustrated from the way he speaks.

Kanu has actually forgotten that his bail might be revoked at his next court appearance. Nobody is going to go and arrest him on the streets of Aba but they will wait till he is back in court. Big mistake by him and his advisers.

I would not be surprised if in the next court appearance date the bail is revoked and Nnamdi Kanu returned to Kuje prison.IPOB will then be shouting of marginalisation and when nobody listen to them, they will start their usual bragado and useless chest-beating.

Exactly my point. And the government is just sitting quietly compiling evidence of the times and occasions he has flouted his bail conditions. The guy and his advisers are playing with fire and have been wrongly advised.

Actually, 'flout' is the correct word and not 'flaunt'.

flout

openly disregard (a rule, law or convention).
"these same companies still flout basic ethical practices"

flaunt

verb: flaunt; 3rd person present: flaunts; past tense: flaunted; past participle: flaunted; gerund or present participle: flaunting

display (something) ostentatiously, especially in order to provoke envy or admiration or to show defiance.
"newly rich consumers eager to flaunt their prosperity"
synonyms: show off, display ostentatiously, make a (great) show of, put on show/display, parade

I know the man doesn't care. I wonder why he agreed to those bail conditions and left his brothers behind in Kuje after boasting that he won't leave them? Help me understand?

I pray the judge orders his immediate rearrest because he flouted his bail terms and is even saying it. This is a man who wants to lead a country but can't obey simple court order.
Leading people to unforeseen hardship.
Igbo people Nigerians love you. Be careful with your choices oh. The British have not fully left the EU and already, the hostility in terms of jobs in the EU is being felt big time. They don't give the British jobs again. Hopeful Brexit will be reversed sooner than later - COPIED FROM LIB

The last five comments on your profile shows you despise Igbo people but suddenly turn around to love them whenever we talk about Biafra.

It's a copied comment which I must give credit to the person who wrote it at Linda Ikeji blog.

However as for me, I am indifferent towards the biafra agitation not because I don't want it's secession but the consequences may hurt your people more. Take the issue of Brexit for example, they have not fully exit but EU countries don't want to employ their graduates again. Another case is that of South sudan.

Before seeking for referendum, put everything in order just like scotland.

Guy go n sleep.since when did u now care so much for the Igbos, the same people u wish death and misfortune. You are calling Biafra and south Sudan in one sentence, see ur life. How are u better than people in South Sudan? Or u think is to type rubbish behind ur keypad. Mind your business plz, with the amount of technocrats and illustrious sons in Igbo land, nobody needs your advice judging by your antecedents here, moreover you are as inconsequential as the rest of your gang
