No it's not, monitor lizard has never killed anybody, they run away from humans..If you are talking Komodo dragons of Indonesia then you have a point..Monitor Lizards are harmless bro..This one was probably feeding fat on op' s catfish hence the size.. It's very rare sighting monitors this large in Nigeria..

At Op',If you are going to eat wildlife which I don't condone, skin the reptile, the skin harbours parasite and harmful organisms.. And also eviscerate the animal, to avoid tainting the meat before any sort of heating..
