hmmm thanks for this but it sounds complex though. We both work and this is our side business. We really dont have any structure of financial statement. company policy etc. We just do plus and minus ourselves basically. The main challenge is all our monies is in this account. We did not use it for ITA as we use our individual work place. Our plan is to use the statement and include the letter from the bank showing us as signatories and the Registration of Business name. Just confused as to if this is sufficient proof.

Your issue is interesting. Since it's just an enterprise, I do hope it's registered, there is little separation from business and owner. I think you can submit the statement and an LOE to explain that you own a small side business. The other concern is that the money is for the business, to keep it afloat. So this means your N12million may not be N12million in the nearest future. How do you sort this out? Do you intend to discontinue the business? These questions need to be clarify and stated in the LOE. Since all your monies are in this account, it also means your savings is in the account too right?

All you have to do is try to convince an external party that the money belongs to you and get document to show this. You conviction must be objective such that anybody going through your document will be convinced

That will be good. On the other hand, I don't know if CIC is familiar with the Nigerian transition from Education to Employment process in Nigeria and the need for Mandatory 1-year service. I know a lot of applicants indicate this, but I don't know if they are aware.

Not to derail the trail though, is it advisable to include the NYSC period as a paramilitary service period? I have been racking my brain to recall my Commandant's name though.....e don tay na!

I really appreciate everyone who has been dedicated to helping out on this thread but please I also have some questions.

I am 28, studied French in my first degree and alsohave a professional masters certificate. I will be married soon but I wanna know if I should begin my application now or wait till i get married later in d year. (though we want to go as a couple)Which is better for a good point?

Also, with my age n french speaking skill, is it better to apply for a QSW or FSW to be on the safe side. I would actually prefer Quebec so I can enhance my french speaking skills but would rather choose the easier option right now n probably relocate later.
I need replies please.

Hello all.

Please is there any way I can get into the EE pool while I await my ECA assessment?

I am looking to take advantage of the recent low ITA cut off.

Thank you.

I suggest you begin your process now, no one knows when the rules will change.
Have you taken language test and evaluated your credentials? If no, that will take some time out of the few months you have to your wedding.
Whatever stage you get to by the time you get married, inform CIC of the change in your situation.
Your spouse should be ready to take language test and do credential evaluation...depending on the stage of the process you are when your status changes.

I actually thought I read somewhere that only the principal applicant needs the language test n ECA.
Are you advising we both do the above?

POST ITA PROCESS

For those who are waiting for ITA, check the following and prepare the necessary documents.

After you receive ITA, once you log in to your Express Entry profile, you will have two buttons
- Continue Application
- Decline Invitation

Note: You will have 60 days to submit your PR application electronically with all supporting documents. 60 days start from the day you get ITA, if you feel that you will not be able to arrange all the documents in 60 days, you can decline the ITA anytime before the expiry of 60 days and you will be back in the pool. In case you decline your ITA, then you will be eligible to be invited again provided you meet the CRS cut-off requirement.

Once you click Continue Application, you will be taken to pages similar to your Express Entry forms that you filled up. This page would have all the information carried forward from your Express Entry profile and additionally you also need to fill up Address History, Personal History and Travel History for each member listed in the application.

DOCUMENT CHECKLIST

Post completion of each section, the system would generate a personal document checklist based on the information submitted by you in the previous pages. A sample document checklist for a family of two (FSW) without any Canadian relatives would look like something below.

FEE PAYMENT

Once you have uploaded the documents, you have the option to make payment and submit your eAPR. Post ITA after clicking Continue, you will be asked whether you want to pay RPRF upfront, in case you have mentioned Yes and later want to modify it, you can do so by going to Modify Family Information which you can find in the menu bar.

Permanent Resident Application Fee: CAD 550 per applicant
Right of Permanent Resident Fee (RPRF): CAD 490 per applicant

You can make payment using credit card and debit cards provided international transactions are allowed on your card. Contact your bank to check the same. MasterCard, Visa and Amex cards are accepted. Ensure that your bank has not put any transaction limit, contact your bank before using your card for payment. In case you do not have suffcient balance or credit limit, you can use your family member's or friend's card as CIC has no restriction on the same.

You will get Acknowledgment of Receipt (AOR) immediately after you make the payment.

THINGS TO NOTE

Police Certificate - If you already have nomination do not wait for ITA, apply for police certificate soon. For countries that you have already left, in case you do not have the police certificate, initiate the process for the same as well as some countries take time to issue you a police certificate.

Medicals - CIC has a list of empaneled clinics/hospitals where you need to get medical tests done. Check this link http://www.cic.gc.ca/pp-md/pp-list.aspx. The following basic tests and checks are carried out (If you have had any or have any medical conditions, you need to let them know and also carry any medical records that you have)
1. Blood
2. Urine
3. Chest X-Ray
4. Eye Sight
5. Blood Pressure
6. Height/Weight
7. Physical examination by physician

You will not be given the results of the tests, the clinic will upload it directly to CIC. You will be given an Acknowledgement Form which you need to upload as proof of medical exam. Please ensure all the information on the Acknowledgment Form is correct as per passport and that the category on your medicals is mentioned as Non-EDE/Worker. If you find any discrepancy, get it corrected then and there itself and get an updated Acknowledgement Form.

Digital Photo - The final frame size of the photo should be at least 35mm x 45mm. The photograph must show a full front view of the head and tops of shoulders. The size of the head, from chin to crown, must be between 31mm and 36mm. The physical dimensions in pixels must be at least 420 x 540. The final size of the image should not be less than 60KB. The file should be submitted in JPEG format.

Reference Letter - For previous employers, the letter obtained after you have left is good enough, unless and until you want to get a fresh letter or want to get the letter updated. For current employer as a rule of the thumb, get a fresh letter if the previous one which you got is older than 6 months. For other questions related to reference letter check this thread http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/nail-the-challenge-of-getting-reference-letter-from-current-employer-t397796.0.html

ECA, IELTS - There is no separate placeholder for IELTS and WES. So you can upload IELTS and WES along with educational documents.

Proof of Funds (POF) - Get latest and updated POF. Ensure you cover as much as information requested by CIC in the Bank Letter/Bank Certificate.

Letter of Explanation(LOE) - Though this is an optional document, please use it to your advantage to explain anything you feel the officer should know or consider while assessing your application.

Provincial Nominees(PNP) - If you are a provincial nominee would suggest you to submit copy of nominaton certificate and Schedule 4 (IMM0008_4E) upfront along with LOE. Though these are not asked for when submitting eAPR, later you will be requested to submit Schedule 4.

Statutory Questions - In case you answer 'Yes' to any Statutory Questions, then explain the reason for the same in LOE and also submit Schedule A (IMM5669E) along with LOE. Though Schedule A is not asked for when submitting eAPR, later you will be requested to submit Schedule A.

Document Size & File Format - All documents should be uploaded as PDF not more than 4MB, except for digital photo which should be in JPEG format and not less than 60KB. For each placeholder, it should be one PDF. If you have multiple pages, merge them into one PDF for each placeholder. If the file size exceeds 4MB, scan the documents with scanner settings at 100 dpi or less but ensure that the files are legible. You can also use online tools like Small PDF to compress, merge and split PDFs etc (https://smallpdf.com/).

Help/Instructions - If you have any doubt about the documents that needs to be uploaded, check the help, blue button (Instructions) next to the Upload File button

thank you @boss13 and @40manlappy

@boss13 I sent you a mail please.

40manlappy:

Put jobs that you can't get reference letters for under the "personal history" section. Where you have gaps, put "Unemployed" there. Make sure there are no gaps!

You should be fine if you can get reference letter for your present position which is more than 3 years already.

It is compulsory for the PA only, only necessary for your spouse if you need to boost your score. Try and calculate your score (as married and unmarried) with and without his test and ECA, so you can decide what to do.

I admire your intelligence. One of These is gonna work for me too. Thanks.
Boss13:

This is where planning in the PRE-ITA phase is crucial. If you are certain someone is going to give you N4m for 6 months or a year. Better get the money before you get ITA or collect the money, reject the ITA and wait for 6 months and 2 weeks to apply. Your 6 months statement will not show how the inflow came. Also, do well by crediting the account when you have money from time to time. Rather than just leaving only N4m and no transaction flow for 6 months.

Also, You can collect the money. Go get a sale invoice and receipt to show that you either sold an asset and the inflow is proceeds for the sale of the asset. If it is a car, get a receipt, change of ownership document, car documents and the narration - SALES OF CAR from whoever is giving you the money. Then you can explain how you got the huge inflow using LOE.

Alternatively, your spouse can collect the money with their account, credit you with the inflow. The problem here is that the VO afterwards may ask, via ADR, for your spouse to provide his/her statement. You can either back this up by claiming share of inheritance from a dead relative. Get a death certificate, a notarise letter of how siblings will share inheritance and narration should be - YOUR SHARE OF MUMMY'S ESTATE. Then you explain with LOE. Your siblings in the letter should sync with the siblings you have on your family/relatives section. The disadvantage here is that one of your relative is dead - this relative MUST also be indicated dead on your family/relatives section and the date of death should sync with the death certificate and possibly be current - maybe like 2014, 2015 or 2016.

There are still other ways, but your information must be flow properly no loopholes.

@temmyo

You don't need to evaluate your b.l - I.e law school - only your llb will suffice. If you have a masters, you should only evaluate the masters as it is your highest qualification.

Thank you very much.

Random thoughts...

Why is everyone who works in a bank referred to as a banker? What of people that work in telecoms companies or oil companies and perform the same role/function as someone working in a bank, what will such person be called?

well done to the fore and great grand fathers/mothers in the house.....and to newbies like myself....i say WADO!

Abeg, let me gba una one small question o, i have ITA and i have recently sold my car which covers most of the required sum that was stipulated by IRCC. However, my challenge is now how to move this money to the account i want to present, is it acceptable to transfer the funds to the account i want to present? if i explain in my LOE that it was a proceed from the sale of my car, will that cause any issue? or is it better to have hubby transfer it to me and explain in a LOE that its his immigration support fund, or even just do a gift deed altogether? please pardon my plenty questions.

For starters, once you get ITA and submitted before your marriage, your spouse only needs to do medicals and police report no need for ECA or IELTS atleast for the process of obtaining PR. Start the process and submit before your marriage,it saves you cost of ielts and ECA if you have enough score as a single applicant.
Secondly go tru the FSW,u even have better chance cos dre will be extra points for French proficiency. As per improving your French, you can always stay in Ottawa which is bilingual though I heard you can move to Quebec without restriction once you are a confirmed PR

If you have documents showing ownership of the.vehicle, sales invoice and sales agreement showing the source of funds , then use LOE in addition with the documwnts to show the source of funds but if the vehicle was not originally in your name, this suggestion 'ko le werk'

Greetings gurus in the house,

Please I need clarifications on some issues.

1. POF - Do you guys foresee any issues with scattered POFs for me and my spouse.
She has a fixed deposit with some mortgage bank, while I have Tbills with 2 separate banks maturing Oct. 12 & Nov 30 2017 respectively.
One of the t-bills is my business name(side business) although am the sole signatory and CAC docs as well bears my name alone. Can this arrangement fly?

2. Marriage Certificate - We got married @ ibeju/lekki LGA earlier this year and if the court judgement is anything to go by then it will affect us because we have the unified marriage certificate that doesn't conform with Form E

Thanks

Not to derail the trail though, is it advisable to include the NYSC period as a paramilitary service period? I have been racking my brain to recall my Commandant's name though.....e don tay na!

Wetin concern Nysc commandant with ur application ni??

Anyway don't specify Nysc as paramilitary or government. This issue has been handled severally here by people who were affected by it. It leads to longer processing times.

Good day everyone, please on this POF issue,an applicant has 1.1m,then intends to use 2M from his Mum as gift deed to augment his POF, can he also attach his Stock's Statement of Account worth 1.2M as part his POF? He is a single applicant.
He has some plots of land he bought some years ago but the land is not registered so it's only receipts that he has and not Deed of Assignment.Won't it be difficult to sell as mere receipt won't suffice as evidence of sale.
Thanks for your prompt response
He can get a declaration letter from his mum with her letterhead if she has a business stating the funds is a gift from her. She can explain the source of her funds. Also attach a statement of account showing transfer from her account. That's what I did and my application has been progressing. I also validated this on canadavisa forum.
I see no reason for someone waiting for 6 months to submit the application. What if the scores go up. Except you prepare in advance. I believe the gift option can work fine for single applicants getting a gift from a close relative and showing source of funds. Generally having some of the funds in your account helps as well especially for married applicants.
