Even if Nigeria is still suspicious of the south easterners due to the civil war, why not have some in the Niger delta and south west? As far as I know, no single military institution or training headquarters is in the south west. This is plainly ridiculous.

I agree with you absolutely, some of the military training institutions should be in the south and not entirely in the north. One would have expected Jonathan to correct some of these anomalies but he was more interested in sacking Yoruba civil servants from Ministry of Aviation through Stella Odua. Hopefully, things like this will be corrected in the future.

Sigh. We keep revolving around Jonathan. I've already said let's put the rest of the South aside for now and focus on the SW since you guys are the ones closest in partnership with the North. What is the benefit of having Osinbajo in power if he can't influence this in some way? The Tinubus and other South West leaders, why hasn't anyone raised an eyebrow over this very vital issue...?

Osinbajo is the vice president while Buhari is the commander in chief of the armed forces. Sensitive decisions like this stop at the table of the president.

Again, it will be very difficult for an Osinbajo to forcefully push for something like this with the current acrimonious relationship between the south west and east. The people of the south east will quickly join the north to attack and label him a tribalist and such can affect his future political fortunes. The recent Dr Farouk Ismaila attack that was published by, the sun, vanguard, eloboam.com and other ibocentric platforms readily comes to mind.

The "acrimonious" relationship between the south west and east has no bearing on what Osinbajo can do or not do. Afterall, he can push for some of those bases to be located [b]across the nation as long as it is outside the North which is already over-skewed.[/b] You are just using the supposed acrimony as an excuse in my opinion.

It's a very dangerous trend and I think it should be brought up in the National Assembly, unless as I said you guys are fine with the status quo.

Pushing for such while still in acting capacity would be very stupid of him. The North will view it differently and when the attacks come, the south east will quickly join in attacking him. If he can be attacked by the north and south east unfairly over ministerial nomination and appointments of domestic aides, what then will happen if a military university proposed to be sited in the north is moved to the south? Only a substantive southern president with a united southern support can take such decision.

Can you mention any millitary school or facilities located in the North east? all the military institutions are located in the North west and Central.

This cry cry people won't stop crying. When government send few military men to eastern streets, you cry of intimidation, militarization, arrest and whatnot to Obama and now trump. If you see the number of army we see everyday, I'm sure iPod and massob would declare a 365 days of sit-at home like the one in the picture below.

Government understands that Ibo people are naturally scared of the military or get thrown into pandemonium upon seeing men in uniform, so they decided to take some military setup away from you, and here you are crying your Flat'head out.

Still after all these you mentioned, the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) is located in Zaria Kaduna State.. That's where most Nigerian pilots, be it military or civilians are trained... Why do we always love to turn blind eyes to glaring facts. I understand the reason for the school to be situated there might be due to the battle of insurgency, but if we're telling ourselves the truth, we should know that the North has already gotten enough from this country... That's the reason why the southerners even state minister of petroleum resources Dr kachikwu Ibe faulted Amaechi when he wanted to revoke the maritime university the want to be build in okerenkoko and push the the maritime studies to be one of courses at NCAT Zaria.. The military comprises of army, navy and airforce. You sight training institutions in areas where the terrain is favorable. Have you seen any naval institution in the far north? No! That's because the navy operates on water.
