I laughed out loud when I saw the threat of Northern youths to Igbos, ordering them to leave the north.
The North don't want restructuring, what do they now want?
Do these northerners know the implications of these threat?
90% of Internal Generated Revenue in the North are gotten from Taxation of Igbo markets, Hotels, Factories etc.
NDI IGBO, Listen, Lagos is the most populated state in Nigeria with 25+million occupants and the same lagos ironically has the smallest landmass in Nigeria, If Lagos can contain 25million people, then Enugu and Anambra alone can contain All Igbos.
Igbo land is bigger than Rwanda, Israel, Gambia, Singapore etc and these are Countries of their own.
If Egypt can build an artifical canal as seaport, Igbos can dredge the Obeaku water in Ukwa, Abia state to the Atlantic.
It is 12nauticals to the atlantic ocean .

There is Oil and gas in Igbo land, from Egbema, Ukwa, Ndoki, Oguta, Ogbaru etc
what about Solid minerals like Limestones, Coal, Tin, Columbite, Timber etc that are in commercial size in Igbo land.
We have huge markets, and most importantly a very great Human Resources.
.
I call upon all Igbo investors in the North to start the process of relocating their businesses to the east,
why will an Imo man build a hotel in jigawa when he can build it in Oguta or Okigwe?
Why will an Abia man build a mall in Kano when he can build it in Umuahia
Why will umeofia want to build a tomato product industry in sokoto when he can build in Onitsha, Nnewi or Asaba.
.
- Lets build international airports in Igbo areas just like Sam mbakwe build the imo airport by shrewd contribution.
Lets copy the Israeli method who returned home and build their homeland.
.
- Some Towns in Igbo land like Arochukwu, Orlu, Okigwe, Nnewi, Afikpo, Nsukka, etc should be build and transformed into a city.
.
- Do you know that Coal in Enugu can power up the whole Igbo land or alternatively the Gas in Oguta and Egbema can power up a Gas power plant in Igbo land.
Don't forget the already existing Thermal power plant in Alaoji Abia that is built by Barth Nnaji.
.
- What about Aba? We can open up Industrial estates in Nnewi,Aba, Asaba, Okigwe etc and start producing some products we will use in Igbo areas inorder to grow the GDP and IGR.
.
- What about Agriculture? Farming should be given and commercialised to Big farm investors.
By the way, when you Eat Oha soup or Nsala soup, how many of the ingredient come from the North? NONE.
Is it their beef? Ebonyi can build a massive cow farm, Imo can build a massive Poultry farm etc.
We can get and produce our own meat.
.
- Lets build more markets and High rise Residential buildings for easy and organised accomodation.
.
- Where are our industralists and investors, it is time to saturate the entire Igbo land with trillions worth of your investments.
.
- What about our own media, we need investment in internationalised media in Igbo land so that we can tell our story and advertise our land to the world.
..
- What about ICT Park in Igbo land, we have the brains to grow many service based and logistic technopreneurship in Igbo land.

.
The empty threat by the northern youths should be a wakeup call.
Even if you want to base outside Igboland, then travel abroad.
Respect comes when your house is in order.
IGBOS lets think home.

Great topic you have here...However, in my usual truth telling nature, i'll aanswer some of the rhetorical questions you posed giving you the reason why things may not work out as we wish.

The DNA of the average Igbo man has been tampered with such that he how now started thinking like a jew that will live his entire life in America without ever think of moving back to Israel, his homeland. We have taken this one-Nigeria slogan soo seriously that we think we can just adopt to live anywhere outside Igboland despite the constant harassment by natives.

One revolution that i think we should focus on is the "Think Igboland" mantra that will be aimed at cajoling Igbos from all over Nigeria to build Igboland and this revolution involves the governors in the region. All hands need to be on deck to turn Igboland into a more commercially viable region.

The truth is that it's actually more viable to setup a business whether in form of a hotel, factory, school etc in other cities outside Igboland than it is in Igboland. So, that's why you see our investments in Lagos, PH, Kano, Kaduna, Abuja and all over the place. When people see the south east is too small for Igbos, it's really not about land as we can have an upward development as far as housing is concerned. The problem is that the resources in the south east are too thin to be enough for the current population let alone if all Igbos come back home. The onus is on our leaders to think big and plan for the future. It's never enough to tell people to leave their profit making business to Igboland out of charity. There's how far charity can take you. The world has become a global village and people don't care as much as living in their ancestral land, so you need more than just telling them that just because they'r Igbo thaat they should move back.

Truth be told, if any Igbo city can attain the level of infrastructure in Uyo, Igbos will naturally wan to come back and set up of something. There has to be a catalyst.

Without achieving peace with our Nigerian neighbours our only hope is to trade by air. As things stand today we live in an area surrounded by jealous tribes who have continuously lived under the false myth of Igbo domination.

I agree with everyhing you are saying. However, unless Igbo land get its independence from the the destructive country called Nigeria, it is all for nothing. Nothing in Nigeria ever progresses, the sooner Igbos get out of Nigeria, the better.

I'm aware of how small of a town Uyo is. Uyo is not more developed than Enugu or Owerri. But they have an infrastructure that they can start with and they will be a force to be reckoned with in decades to come. That's what we're missing in the south east because of paucity of funds.

Afam before Igbos move out, others were coming to Igboland to trade. I have personally concluded on my plans to sell off all my landed properties in Rivers and Abuja then invest in Owerri and Enugu while my businesses still run here.

Uyo that you mentioned is not a viable town to make money like Aba, Owerri, Enugu and Onitsha. Most of the villages/towns Igbos live and establish their businesses in the North and South do not have as much infrastructure as Nnewi but they still prefer living there. We need to come back home and build things that Nigeria lacks and then prove to our neighbors that we are brothers and not a domineering people as they perceive.

It's the issue of access to sea. Afam I am a well rooted man in Rivers State and I can swear with anything that it is impossible as things are right now to attempt building any canal that will cut across Rivers land for Igbos to trade. Anybody that tells you it's possible knows nothing or is deceiving himself.

My brother I'm talking of Southern minorities not Obasanjo and North. There is a generational dislike in these parts for Ndigbo because of a false perception of domineering tendency.

Having access to the sea is one of the bigger things. We can start with the smaller things which to me are just as important. What access to the sea do Kano and Kaduna have? Uyo? Abuja? Development can happen whether or not we have access to sea. We just use this deficiency to discourage ourselves.

About the dislike by minority groups, there's really nothing we can do about it since they have their minds made up already or should be bow down and worship them?

Even without moving our businesses from Lagos, Abuja, Kano etc. it is enough to move 80% of our profits to Southeast. Imagine if our yearly profits from other parts of Nigeria is 3 trillion and we use 2.5 trillion to invest in Southeast what we can achieve in 5 years.

What we do is to reinvest 95% in our host communities which ordinarily is a good gesture but it rather attracts envy than appreciation. The Northerners and SWners generally invest 80% at home and their host communities feel more comfortable.

Uche Ogah for example has a money spinning Masters Energy in Port Harcourt but is investing most of the profit at his hometown of Uturu. That way the Rivers people are happy with him for providing job opportunities and for equally not buying up all their land with the profit he made there. A typical Igbo man would have reinvested his entire profit at Iwofe and in that process breed jealousy.
