Good morning All, please has anyone had the opportunity of writing an English test with the US consulate in Lagos? If there's any one here,please help as i need briefing on what the test entails. I just got an invite to write English language test and i really wish to prepare myself before hand. I want to know what to expect,please don't just read and pass o,help a mama in the house

I have done the test before. For which post ? Because the position you are applying for at the US Consulate has different level of English for there positions.

Mine was Level III Test of English. If I could remember, I think it was three stages. Stage one, the examiner will be calling questions from a paper and you will be following him/her so you come up with an answer. That's for about ten questions. The other questions are hmmmmm. Bro/Sis please be prepared for the test o abeg. But like I said the position you applied for will determine the level of test.

Travel Clerk: it should also be Level III English. It is always in the advert. I didn't say that to scare you but to let you prepare very well for the test. But if you can pass it and get employed, all your ex-girlfriend and those ladies that looked down on you in the past will be running after you.This is an opportunity for you to hit it, so please prepare well abeg.

I am sure I didn't fail the test but the job wasn't mean for me as another big offer awaits me.

There was an advert towards the end of February and Mid-March for that particular Position and Fuel Clerk or so... The advert closed on March 16th thereabout...

If you filled the form, kudos to you. You are getting there.

I really wish to get the job, I need it badly. I took out time to fill the 6pages form. I just decided to try & not that I really put my mind in it cos I thought it' s one of those Nigerian thing that you need to have a connection or so,hence I'm so surprised I got an invite. Do you think I can be employed esp in my present condition? Also, please tell me, is it a written test or CBT, how long will the test last, will there be another test after this? I went online to check some level 3 English test & I found it a little easy,was that how it was for you too? Was it travel clerk you also applied for then? I'm sorry for too much questions plss

It was a written test and that is what it will be this time too. Mine was a technical engineering position. I can't really say about the condition but you can mail me directly on that and I will tell you what to do.

Where did you get the Level III English Language Test from ?

Same with me, they called me after two months that have forgotten applied there...

I just googled it & it came up with some practice questions. How can I mail you?

The day I will get an invite from either US or UK agencies job or any of their recruitment, I will first of all go and do thanksgiving. That is a breakthrough on its own.

I used the job title as the subject. I applied for either British High Commission or British Council last year but didn't receive invite too. I saw the US advert that is related to my field last December, applied and got an invite in February.

I was also invited for the same test coming up on 14th June.I pray I make it.

Test completed,even a junior secondary student will pass the test.100 Multiple choice questions.We were 7 in all.My fear is some of the candidate seem so familiar with some of the staff..I just hope everything will be transparent .

Hmm,quite interesting....so that's all. Which means you should be through in about an hour or thereabout......I pray for God's favour sha. But were you told if there would be another test/interview later in the future or will this be the only test?

Yes,there'll be an interview after according to the hr specialist. I'm sure a lot of people will pass the test.
