I'm thinking why didn't the community that threw garbage in the drains come together o clear it out?..... soldiers doing 'community service' should be like drilling wells/erecting overhead water tanks /building playgrounds/....repairing/extending schools/health centres...... not doing this kind of stuff that's more like a form of punishment that prisoners should be engaged in.And the one in charge thinks it's a brilliant idea... thinking outside the box...outside the box indeed!

I'll believe that you haven't been to civilised climes where the military actually construct and repair public infrastructure, even go to the extent of fixing private properties that were probably destroyed by natural disasters
I applaud and appreciate whatever it is that they are doing. It's a step in the right direction for our military service so that the rank and file knows that it is its duty to serve the populace.
