Before long,Niel stormed into the room.
“Niel,don’t you know how to knock? What if we were unclad?” I fired at him.
“Look,I’m sorry Mille. You can kill me later.”
“What’s the problem?” I asked. He looked really angry.
He didn’t even bother answering me. He was just glaring at his sister like he would cut off her head in a matter of seconds. I turned to Gloria hoping for an explanation but I got none. She wasn’t a bit shaken by his glare. She was busy chatting,totally ignoring him.
“Do you guys wanna tell me what the hell is going on here?”
“Ask your friend.” Niel finally replied.
“Gloria spill before I get mad.”
“Na wa o. Am I the one that barged into the room with a face that can pursue all the witches from Akwa Ibom?”
“Gloria,I’m so not in the mood to laugh right now so cut it out.” I said.
“Gloria,what have I done to you? Must you always joke around?’
“One question at a time bro. I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Cut the crap Gloria. You locked my room.”
“What the hell! Gloria did I hear right?” I asked.
“I have no hand in it. Ask Elliot.”
“Stop! Just stop! Elliot would never do that. That’s why you wanted me to go and eat first,so you would carry out your silly plan.”
“For the last time Jathniel. I didn’t do it.” She got up from the bed.
“Gloria,for the last time,give the keys back.” He clenched his fists and I knew he was getting angry. I decided not to intrude in the sibling fight. A part of me believed that Gloria took the keys.
“Mille,talk to him o. I’m not with his keys.” She looked at me but I didn’t even spare her a glance.
Niel was moving towards her in very short and slow strides. The room was quite big and they both walked around it. Niel was still moving towards her and she was moving backwards as he came closer. When she reached a corner, she could no longer move. She was beginning to get scared. Just when he stopped before her,I got up from the bed to hold him back.
“Niel please stop.” I pleaded
“I took it. I took it Jathniel.” She covered her face with her palms.
“Give them back this instant.” He said in a voice barely above a whisper.
She just stood there with her palms still covering her face.
“Gloria are you deaf?” He yelled this time.
“It’s not in this room. I’ll go get them if you could just shift a bit.”
“Before I shift,I’m warning you never to pull such an expensive stunt when I want to go out especially with Mille. Taken?”
She nodded. “I just wanted to delay you so you wouldn’t take Mille away so soon.”
He didn’t answer her. He just made way for her to pass. She moved as fast as she could. I had never seen Gloria behave that way before. Once she left the room, I turned to Jathniel.
“Mr Discipline,that was way too hard. She was just joking with you for crying out loud and the next thing,you wanted to behead her.’
He smacked his forehead. “ I know and I’m sorry.”
“Tell that to Gloria.”
She came back inside and handed him the key before running to the restroom. I gave him the ‘see what you’ve caused’ look. He followed her. He held the door before she could slam it shut.I left the room so he would be able to talk to her.
I sat on the stairs humming to myself. I felt someone was watching me so I turned and my eyes got locked with Elliot’s. He was peeping from his door. He attempted closing the door when our eyes locked but I stopped him.
“Come on out Elliot. I don’t bite.”
He came out and sat beside me on the stairs “I’m not afraid of you.”
“I never said you were. I just want a proper introduction. You know we started out on the wrong foot.”
“Yeah right. I’m Elliot,Jathniel’s brother.” He stretched his hand forward for a handshake.
“And I’m Mille,Jathniel’s girlfriend. It’s an honour meeting my boyfriend’s twin.” I shook his hand. I noticed his eyes were a lighter shade of brown while Niel’s were darker.
“Love my eyes?” He asked.
“I sure do. They suit you.”
Niel came out of the room with Gloria holding on to his hand. They were both smiling when I turned to them but Niel’s smile vanished immediately he saw Elliot.
“Niel,go get ready so we can go already.” I said to him. I wasn’t ready to watch world war 3 just yet.
“Alright love. I’ll be out soon enough.”
Gloria sat in between Elliot and I. Only then did Niel enter his room.
“You okay?” I whispered in Gloria’s ears. She flashed a smile at me and nodded.
“I guess I have to leave you ladies for now.” Elliot announced.
“Thanks for keeping me company.”
“It’s okay. The only payment I seek is your contact.”
“I thought you’d never ask.” I called out my phone number to him and he typed it on his phone.
“I’ll surely give you a call pretty damsel.”
I giggled “Of course sir. I’ll be expecting it.”
Immediately he left,Gloria spoke up.
“Small advice Mille. Don’t let Elliot get into your head abeg. He’s a fine boy sha bt I’d advise you stick with your boo boo.”
I smiled “Advice taken miss key.”
“Stop na. Now you can talk shey? When that your person wanted to kill me,you didn’t say a single word.”
“You needed small boost. It would have made sense If he had landed a sweet knock on your head.” Her countenance changed. “Na play o madam.”
“I know jare. Never pray for Niel to use his hands on someone abeg. Trust me,I’v heard stories from both Elliot and him.”
I laughed.
“I’m serious about that my advice Mille.”
“So Gloria now gives advice.” Niel came out of his room.

I had finished having dinner with my prince. We went in and we washed up together just like old times. I was so happy to have him back. I told him all that had happened in Brian's family while he was away. He felt really bad. He promised me he'd take care of Jamille as best as he could. We were on our way to the bedroom when he turned to me.
"My heartbeat is still as fresh as ever."
"Only for you my prince." I replied.
He smiled pulling me towards the bedroom.
"Not so fast baby, I've gotta check on my girls."
He groaned before letting go of my hand. I didn't expect Jamille to be in her room so I went further to Kara's. I peeped through the door and saw them all sleeping.
I watched them for about five minutes. I didn't know when the tears started falling. I guess I stayed too long and Liam came to get me.
"Why the tears baby?" He asked.
"Oh it's nothing." I said while wiping the tears from my face.
"Don't tell me that baby,something's up."
"I just wish they were all mine. I wish they came out from my own body dear. I'd do anything to make them mine."
He led me my the hand to our room before he spoke up.
"Who said they aren't yours dear? They may not have proceeded from your body but they belong to you. Everybody knows that three of them love you to the moon and back. They'd give anything to make you happy."
I sniffed and he got up to fetch a handkerchief for me.
"We've been through this before Liz. I don't want your depression issues to come up again please. You promised to get Jamille through her problems. You can't do that if you're not okay."
I nodded.
"So, are you gonna smile for me or do I have to make you do it."
I gave him a fake smile.
"Well,you know as well as I do that the smile was a fake one. So you leave me with no choice."
I knew he was about to tickle me. I got up from the bed and began moving backwards.
"No no,come to papa."
He followed me gently while I continued moving backwards until I hit the wall.
"I've got you just where I wanted babe."
Liam tickled me till tears dropped from my eyes.
"Baby,no,please. We're too old for this please."
"Who is old? You're only 49 and I'm 52. That's not old age darl." He said as he tickled me further.
"Alright, alright I'm smiling now."
"Now,that's better." He carried me to the bed and planted a soft kiss on my lips. He was about to go further when I held his hands.
"These white lights are too bright. Let's use the blue ones."
"As you wish,your highness." He did as I told him within seconds and was on the bed before I could blink. The rest, they say is history.

I woke up the next day with a contented smile. I went straight to the bathroom to have a shower. Liam was still sleeping. He woke just when I was about to crawl out of the room.
"Where are you creeping to princess?"
"To make you breakfast dear. Good morning."
"Good morning baby. I'll be down soon to help."
"Alright dear." I left the room.
I checked the girls' room and they were all wrapped together on the bed. I chuckled and headed to my kitchen.
I decided to make fried yam with native sauce for the house that morning.
I brought out the tubers of yam to peel them.
"Good morning ma"
I turned to see Philip standing at the door.
"Good morning sir" He smiled.
"How was your night?"
"Went well ma,your girls almost destroyed my ears with their chats. I was glad when they slept off. I'm sure they're still sleeping because they slept awful late."
"Yeah,they're in bed. Sorry about the noise. They just had a chance to interact with their cousin for the first time."
"Oh, I see. The tall and slim girl right?"
"Yes dear."
"Good morning mum."
"That's Kara I guess."
"Yes mum, you got it right as always."
"Where are the rest?"
"They're hiding behind the fridge."
"Kara,that's evil of you na." Rachel whined.
"Good morning mum." She said at last.
"Good morning aunt." Jamille was right on her heels.
"Good morning babies. Come give mum a big hug."
They came all at once and almost pushed me to the floor.
"Jamille, won't you prefer calling me mum?"
"I've been dying to hear you say that mum."
She laughed and came for another hug.
"I want to introduce you to Philip. Philip meet my daughter, Jamille and Jamille,this is Philip."
They shook hands and said their good mornings.
"Philip, is that a twinkle I see in your eyes?" Rachel asked in a mocking tone.
"Iyammi! Rachel disappear from my kitchen with the speed of light."
She took to her heels while Kara laughed her heart out.
