Good day ooo

This is one month six days since my lo arrival. I must confess I have not slept. I'm the kind of person that can't just automatically go back to sleep wen I'm woken up from it. As it is now, my head is banging and as if my eye balls will come out of the sockets. Nobody told me this part ooo. At the early point, we were eating like every 30 minutes. Later to one hour. Presently, I can't keep time again. It's like its within same time interval both day and night. He is on exclusive. I have been thinking to introduce formula, same time feeling guilty for considering that option. Pleas make una suggest best way for me oo. Secondly, pregnancy or arrival of my lo has not increased my food appetite. I still eat small small portion 3 times daily. Few times have I had in between meals. Please what food should i take to increase my breast milk. A friend said maybe baby is not feeding well. I don't know oo. But the milk flows and on few occasion drops a bit on its own. Please all advise and suggestions are welcome

I forgot to add that two days now, I noticed small puss from baby's ears. I was told because i breastfed him while lying down. I'm kind of worried though his six weeks clinic is on Monday. And he has had this kind of eye clog *something like puss* coming out of his eyes. I have tried br.east milk a little, it didn't work. Anyone with same experience?

The recipe

I think i must shared this b4 on NL but cant say when or where.
Well what u need.
Beans (washed and carefully picked without any beans covering like u want to prepare moi moi)
Titus fish- skinned n de-boned... then scattered to be almost mashed.
Carefully picked crayfish or prawns without the legs and all that....
Good cooking oil (or olive oil)

Put washed beans in d pot to cook till soft.
When very soft add the fish..
The cryfish n lil onion should be blended n added.
No spice but u can put a pinch of salt
Table spoon of oil will do.
Then continue cooking very well till everything desolves.

Then serve with butter or egg yoke.

Put d rest in transparent nylon in small small quantity like small moi moi and freeze.
When baby wants to eat... put in d hottest part (vegetable section) of fridge or outside d fridge to defrost and warm.

I think its 6months to 1year
The child will just be licking mouth.
U can then proceed to moi moi.
Although most children eat moi moi as early as possible.

Sorry about the sleepless, but sincerely, it's part of motherhood package, try sleep when baby is asleep( this doesn't work for me sha). As for milk supply, I think your supply is still enough for your baby now but don't feel guilty if u want to add formula ( do what works for you).

As for the discharge in baby's eyes and ears, please see a pead and you don't have to wait till Monday

sweetie introducing formula now will be more stressful for u. Cos u have to prepare the formula and check temperature b4 feeding, wash and sterilize feeder everyday, and any time he poops u have to be worried about his poop why is it too strong/too soft too often too scare. The only advantage formula feeding mum have is that you can leave the baby for some else to babysit. If u are not returning to work soon I appeal to you to continue doing the baby friendly thing cos it will help u get back in shape and also save u some Money it is also less stressful as u don't have to sterilize ur breast and worry about stoolling. I am speaking from experience. God bless you as u journey through this phase

Sabi mama's. I noticed that most of us are complaining about diapers causing rash on our baby's butt and all that, have we ever considered the wipes we are using could be responsible for the rash and not the diapers. Cos it happened to me with my first child only to find out it was the wipes and not the US huggies I was using so I made my own wipe solution cos it was the alcohol and perfume she was actually reacting to so I made mine without these Ingredients and everything became fine
Ingredients for wipes: 1tbspoon coconut or olive oil plus I tbspoon of liquid baby soap add to 100ml of water and sprinkle on wipe cloth or double the ingredients and pour Into kichen serviette for disposable wipes. But as for me I use the washable one to save cost.

Same with my lo. Sleep is now a luxury sad .I can't remember the last time I slept 3 straight hours... Being a mother is no child's play.

Mamas complaining about lack of sleep that is the vigilante that we have been welcoming you to. We all went through it . Waking up every two hours or not even getting any sleep for 6 hours straight. It gets better my lo is 5 months wakes up just once at night now. Sleep is becoming sweet again.

brownsugars:

Well, lemme share how I conquered my own challenge!

After I complained here that my Lo was waking 4-5 times at night and I asked what I could feed him at night to make him sleep better but didn't get a response, I whisked him straight to the pediatrician's cos I was almost losing it.

This is what the Ped said:
"Ma'am babies usually follow an established routine, so if you continue waking up 5 times with him at night, he won't stop. You have two options -: you either keep waking up 5times at night with him indefinitely, or take 3 nights of crying & tough love and get him to change and sleep better tru the night.
Bath & feed him very well say around 10pm, put him in his room, make sure he's ok & safe, then try not to go put on his light & pick him up till 5am. If he whines at the middle of the night, just be sure he's not in any danger or discomfort of any sort but don't pick him up. He should adjust to this new routine within 3days.
Most babies should comfortably sleep through the night from four months so nothing will happen neither will he die of hunger bw 10pm & 5 am. Goodluck".

When I got home that day, I prayed then prepared everything for the task ahead cheesy
We used to co-sleep (in the same room...abeg I can't do that one of putting him alone in his own room. Kole work), so i dressed my Lo's bed and moved him to his own bed.
I fed & put him to bed, then as usual he woke up 2hours later around 12 & started whining. I kept quiet & held myself from going to pick him up.
After whining for about 5mins, he slept back and didn't wake again till 3am. I couldn't resist the 3am whining cheesy so I picked him up at 3am, fed & changed his diaper (with the lights off, just used the little illumination from my phone). He whined at 4.30am, i ignored him, he slept back and didn't wake again till 6am.
The next day, he didn't wake up till 2am, I ignored him cos I wanted us to gradually get to the 5am mark. He slept back and woke again at 4am, I fed him at that 4am. He didn't wake again till 7am. And we've been at this ever since then.

So he practically goes to bed at 10pm, only wakes up once at night between 3 & 4am, goes back to sleep after about 10-15mins till 7.30am when he finally wakes fully.
grin God is good!

Abiagirl777, your Lo is still very tender so I don't think this will work yet. Keep managing o, the stage you guys are in now is really not an easy one.

Please can this work for newborns? My Lo is 3 weeks and he doesn't sleep at all at night. I'm honestly getting depressed . sad

wow!!! this mama eventually spoke my mind. I ought to have done dis but time no gree me. So far we have not had any diaper nor wipes issues when it comes to napkins rashes
what we do ; when we are home we rinse bombom with water and infact if we went to visit someone we are close with we don't use it.

And we are use to using barrier cream, ori to be precise even without rash.

I beg to disagree!
If she wants to introduce formula, she can do so without it being stressful. Sterilizing is not stressful. Checking temperature and preparing the formula isn't stressful either.

@jazzyjazz abt d interview thing, I also went for one when my baby was barely 3months old, it was hurrible as I have never failed an interview bf..It was like the interviews done at Shell. Although am still applying cos I need to practice what I studied.

Lil advice, in case d issue of y u want to leave your baby and work. Tell them u need to put your brain into use and u never like been idle. Let them c u as a hard-working person... Never mention state of d economy. And y u left your former place, tell them it's cos u needed to do something more challenging, that u were no longer learning anything new so u needed job change and also for greener pasture.

@Onegai correct me if am wrong.....Me sef dey learn.

Your second point.

Wont they say u will get tired of them soon n bail?
