With Anti-Shark torpedos ? Manufactured by Denel. Aka AST systems
Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by Nobody: 4:50pm On Jun 20, 2017
the guy is only comparing submarines to sharks and not saying submarines are used to deter sharks. just like shark would deterre poeple from swimming in a place , potential attackers would be deterred from south african water where there is submarines.

I've been following this project but tbh I admit I don't have all the details. Wouldn't it have been easier to licence build popular regional turbos for which Denel already has the skills and personnel ? I get the distinct impression this is mainly a vanity project. Pls,hold your fire and correct me,I admit I don't have all the details-correct me.

This kid again. Education must be really expensive in Zululand.
Jf17 is a 4th generation aircraft while it's block 3 is being described as a 4th generation + aircraft.

Your level of pettiness is too low. Dopemu
Boy I will not derail this thread by commenting on your toilet related matters.

The exportation of Botox has led to stiff face syndrome in your little village I see.

Being a pilot is cool until uncle SAM knocks you off the air behind enemy lines and you have nothing beyond a pistol and map to get you out of your screwed up situation.... That moment you're a lone Recce with a battalion of enemy soldiers hunting you down. You'll be praying "God if I make it out of here, I'll go to church every Sunday - I swear". grin

I wouldn't say vanity project, more skills retaining project. Many of the engineers who were involved in Rooivalk development and other projects are reaching retirement age. I think Denel is looking for its next big project that will involve hundreds of engineers, technicians etc etc and covering it up as a viable economic possibility. Who knows maybe it will be a commercial success.

Real pilots carrying out real missions all across Africa since 1993. cool cool

Nigerian Air Force pilots

24 years of constant combat sorties
All those combat sorties and Zero air-to-air kills?

SAAF, 58 Aces, carrying out combat missions all across the world since 1920.

Lol, the facts are there for us to see.

"What use is a 4th generation fighter, if it's going to be used to run after Rhinos in the bush?".

grin grin
What good is a 4th gen fighter if it's not 4th gen and doesn't exist?

Not as dull as the guy who crashed your flagship 8 times. Or the guys who managed to set fire to 3 of your ships, or the officers who allowed 86% of your fleet to become unseaworthy.

But hey, at least you have submarines tavors.

The Nigerian Air Force chief knows why he is there, he means business.

The chief below him spent most of his time chasing rhinos in the bush.

Wouldn't you be if "6/8/9 Gripen pilots" suddenly became more than 16 right before your eyes? And then the end of rotational storage in peace-time?
Particularly if your airforce in peacetime becomes this?

He must have been off playing golf when BH had tanks and other heavy equipment, clearly visible from the sky, and easy to destroy from the air. But zero action till last minute.

That feeling when your Airforce is so well equipped that pilots can take time off and take out 26, 4th generation fighters valued at over $50 million a piece to game veiwing at Mach 2, at 30 000 feet, using dedicated reconiasance pods so powerfull they can detect the heat coming off Henry120s backside while switched off and stored in a hanger.

Stop derailing your thread ma.....d man.

Those ops fall under boarder reccon. Some even went as far as saying maybe the Gripens should utilized for maritime surveillance. The former gives crews experience which would be useful in COIN missions while the latter would enable them to at times exercise with vessels our at sea enhancing their skills in areas like anti-shipping.

Nah, you do not have the money to so that. Jln just confirmed that.

Keep doing recon on rhinos.
