stop hiding under Igbo moniker to insult.
you are not an Igbo!
we know your tribe here in the south.
Akwa ibom are wonderful Neighbours to Igbos and we respect each other.
hope you also know that we the akwa ibomites and the south South states have nothing in common to share with biafrau.ds

This road collapsed as a result of negligence. The road cannot just develop a problem under one day and collapse same day, there must have been some signs developed but was neglected because we are always busy pursuing our selfish interest and leaving what we are suppose to do as government and as an individual.

The worst part of this is that another huge sum of money will be voted for the reconstruction of that road without finding out exactly what is the problem that led to the collapse of the road and again when raining season starts next year the road will still collapse and the circle continues huh Africa, I SMH
The problem is even visible in that pic and i know they will address it.

I think is high time we begin to make scape goat of our engineers. The engineer who approved the design of the road without drainage system needs his licence withdrawn if he have one any way. I hope COREN will start living up to its responsibilities.
True we should start making scape goats it if erring engineers but this road didn't collapse due to lack of drainage as it was provided(check out the 2nd picture).
I believe other factors caused the structure failure like low soil bearing capacity, non compliance with the road design by contractor, poor base and sub base etc

Some of these road collapses are avoidable. If the problem of erosion had been attended to earlier, the road wouldn't have collapsed.

Now you can expect this to cause traffic in that axis.

Anyway as www.trafficbutter.com.ng we will continue to do our best to help the citizens. The TrafficButter Community provides its members with Traffic updates, security alerts & answers to general inquiries, to save them time when they are commuting & seeking answers. Our goal is simple: We want to help Nigerians NAVIGATE SMARTER and ease the traffic stress on them by providing real-time traffic updates through an easy to use website and mobile app.

Akwa Ibom, you are welcome to check out www.trafficbutter.com.ng .

I read the post my friend but what I said still stands. I passed through Karu during a raining day and the whole place was filled with water and I began to think whether the government does not know whether proper and big drainage will solve the problem.

Where that lady comes from is 99% flowing with oil. Google Obgbo/Oyigbo in Rivers State for more information.
But why Nigerians too like oil?
