I don't know why they released this demented lunatic in the first place. Kemi belongs in the psychiatric ward of the prison. Her father and rest of her family will rest if she is escorted back to her new home which is prison. That is where she belongs!

To all those cheering this injustice, be aware, today it is Kemi, tomorrow it could be you.
Nothing stops someone from saying what she thinks, if anyone thinks they are being maligned, nothing stops you from seeking redress in a court of competent jurisdiction. But perverting justice and unduly incarcerating one is illegitimate and should never be condoned , Nobody is more important than the other, no body is more equal than another;
If the said man wasn't a Preacher; would you all be encouraging this like you do? Let's be objective and reasonable for once . All this adulation and deifying we do for preachers in this part of the world to the dismal extent of condoning all their excesses and dignifying them as infallible is truly pitiable ,
I really pity for this nation and how vainglorious religiousness has further hacked us into a dejected and despondent state ..

She tarnished the image of somebody who knows his rights and he got her arrested and charged to court. She was granted bail. She couldn't perfect the bail and was sent to prison. That's how the law works in any country. The problem with most of you is that you don't know your rights. That's why bloggers can do whatever they like in Nigeria.

What kind of rubbish are you saying. Is she not going through the judicial process. She was arrested and cannot perfect bail. Is that the fault of the complainant or the system which is obviously not perfect. Yes we all want justice in future and hope for a working system but justice also means a stand against defamation which is a crime. You are angry simply because you feel pastors should be defamed without seeking redress. Try that to other religions in other climes and see the kind of instantaneous justice that will blow your mind away. Freedom of speech indeed. And then you come here and complain how your pet politicians are insulted everyday.

Kemi's case is a civil case and not a criminal case, the way she's being dumped in prison is very very bad and devilish.

Yes, she defamed the name and character of a man, but we have to be very careful not to set a negative precedence in this already messed - up country.

I'm an Igbo man, and kemi is Yoruba, but bearing in mind that injustice somewhere is injustice everywhere, I and my household condemn this recent injustice on Kemi Olunloye.

It's a vile hateful low IQ society, check out the comments, people are denigrating a woman who has the effontery to bring out what the so- called powerful men do in private. This is the bipolar quagmire we are faced with. That someone would be incarcerated for so long on a non capital offense should have all Nigerians out in arms...but read the comments...unbelievable! Yet through it all, this woman has kept up a high spirit and making the best of a bad situation...honestly my admiration for her grows in bounds.

She did not meet her bail conditions, that's what failing to "perfect her bail" means. So its either she jumped bail or there was an error on her part that led to the court having to revoke the bail. Its that simple. The fact that she is facing one set of charges at the Federal High Court does not automatically invalidate another set of charges against her at the Magistrate Court. It seems that she chose to ignore the Magistrate Court case after she had been released on bail.
Let's try to understand things first before jumping into the fray.

# BREAKING I may be rearrested. My magistrate bail of
N200K was not perfected. The prison says the warrant
was cancelled. Judicial error. My lawyers have to
perfect the bail now. The complainant is suing me in
both courts SIGH. Media will pounce on this! So unfair!!
They need a prison official here for probable cause. I am
already in Federal high court which should supercede
magistrate. Prison officials need that court order inviting
them to court. I went to the prison fast with a dropcab.
I am back in the courtroom. The judiciary clerk said the
order was not ready yesterday. This morning the court
order to PRISON officials is still not ready. Failure of a
judiciary Prison and courts seem to be enemies.
God is here for my best interest!!

The federal high court is a higher court, and to the best of my knowledge one can't have concurrent charges; when a case is being tried in a higher court, u cannot do sane concurrently in a lower court, that will amount to an aberration and a gross one at that ...

You are correct that the Federal High Court is higher on the hierarchy. Unfortunately, that does not affect the criminal jurisdiction of the Magistrate Court. It is therefore possible to try the same person for different offences simultaneously at the Magistrate Court and the Federal High Court.
That seems to be exactly what happened in this case. In fact, you will remember that she was first arrested and charged to the magistrate court after which she was granted bail before she was again arrested and charged before the FHC on different charges.
