About 40 in every 100 science students have at some point in time had the aspiration of becoming medical doctors. But here are my personal reasons why I prefer Public Health to MBBS:

1. I easily get moved at the sight of tears. It takes a well conditioned mind to neglect a dying patient due to his inability to afford the cost of treatment.

2. I Wouldn't Want To Take Responsibility For Someone's Life At The Emmergency Room.

3. Being a medical doctor automatically denies one personal freedom. There is also little or no attention to family, friends and even God. Medicine requires constant research to stay informed.

4. There is a limit to what I can look at especially as it regards anything dirty: stinking wounds, etc.

5. Medical doctors in Nigeria are not well taken care of and so joining the field might make me contemplate suicide. Lol.

6. Medicine is basically about saving *a life* but Public Health is about *saving lives*.

Public health is a component of Medicine and Surgery

I haven't said Public Health is not a component of Medicine, and besides, those were purely my own views. There was no point of you rating any of them as being "right" or "wrong".
