Following on from a similar thread I made on this time ago, what's the status of Ika people in Edo state? Is their culture much different to Agbor/Delta Ika and how's the Igbo identity thing viewed in that side of Bendel - do they speak central Igbo as well or just plain Ika?

My guess would be that you'd find more pro-Igbos among Edo Ika compared to Delta Ika.

No part of Ika speak central Igbo.

They have the same worldview and idiosyncrasy as us. But just like us, they have a hard time understanding central Igbo.

Igbanke is just one of the many Ika speaking communities in Edo State. Ikas exist in up to 3 local governments far deep into Edo. Although some of these communities are not really Ika people. Some are Esans and Binis that have adopted Ika as a second language.

Hello, you deliberately ignored my previous post on a different thread. Should I bring it to your attention here?

Hehehe.... watch how some revisionists will descend in here, to forcefully ascribe a mono-Igbo identity to those Ika communities, especially those hosting the Esan and Bini people you mentioned. wink
