Private or commercial use? What is the engine size of the honda?
To be used as a private daily driver sir.
honda is 2.4 i4, 2005, manual gear
corolla is 1.8 i4 2007, manual gear
Both are tokunbor.
Fuel economy isn't an issue, just asking about reliability, parts, ease of repair etc.

Which do u suggest, Sir?

Hi Gazzuzz....

1. Please I need your help in getting the right rear wheel hub for a Ford Mondeo 2004. I have been unable to get it so far.

2. My car shifts gear perfectly when on a flat road or downhill but gear shifting and power lose occurs when climbing hills. What could be the cause please? Could it be low fuel pressure?

Boss Gazzuzz.

I wanted to ask an opinionated question.

What's your rule of thumb for vehicle parts when replacing faulty parts?

Do you have a standard you use in deciding when to use Genuine, OEM, Aftermarket or used parts?

By Genuine, I mean the parts produced by OEMs but with the logo of the car brand on them.

I guess you know the rest as well, boss.

Sorry for too much question and grammar ni.

grin grin grin

That is not the EGR valve, it's actually the EGR Vacuum Modulator. The one beside it is the EGR valve. The pipe blocked with the broom should go to the vacuum switch valve(vsv) which Toyota hid under the car(you go sweat to lose am if e don spoil) and another pipe should go from the vsv to the EGR valve. I have a 1997 Camry and me and Oga gazzuzz had to relocate the position of the vsv to some place more reachable. If connected properly you should see improvements in your gas mileage . I sha know it's all part of the breathing system of the car sha. Maybe oga gazzuzz fit help expatiate. My car has the P0401 code which I believe yours will have too and your check engine light should be on. I and Oga gazzuzz have tested the EGR valve and it works fine, changed vsv but yet to change that modulator which I hope will be the culprit of my check engine light grin

very easy, location is at the back of the engine near the fire wall. Car should have issues starting in the morning especially on a cold day.

Coolant temp sensor check if connections are firm, if firm replace sensor. If you cannot get 1, come over and get 1 for free.

Calculation of wear and tear time for certain parts.

E.g

Oem sway bar links, 30k, life span (lagos roads) lifespan 3-5years. 70,000km

Good After market 7k, life span 1-2years. 30,000km

From this little assessment, you can easily deduce that the aftermarket is a cheaper buy (not factoring multiple labour payments)

Another example.

Oem Timing belt 25k 100,000miles

After market 5k 10,000miles max.

Not a good buy getting the aftermarket.

So it really depends on the part, the clients ability to spend on his vehicle, the risk involved in using after market parts, and the benefits.

Nice breakdown ,boss.

One more thing.

When you look at vehicles that were manufactured in early 2000s or late 90s which probably do not have OEM parts in abundance any more , what would be your advice to a client in cases of replacement of faulty parts due to wear and tear?
