Urgent: How Can I Control Hare (Bush Rabbit) Invasion On Corn Farm? - Agriculture - Nairaland

Urgent: How Can I Control Hare (Bush Rabbit) Invasion On Corn Farm? by pragmatistm(op): 11:29pm On Jun 28, 2017*

I have a small corn farm planted about a month ago. Still very tender.I have just realized that hares (Bush Rabbit) have been feasting on the tender plants. Many stems have been cut in their prime.

I can't use the local traps for two reasons. One is that chickens from the neighborhood do visit the farm on continuous basis. Two, I can't be checking the trap daily as the farm is far from where I live.

Nairalanders, please help me out.

poisoned food traps? are you sure they are hares? they could be grasscutters (greater cane rats)?

I'm very sure they are hares. I saw the dungs.

You mentioned poisoning food traps. How is that done? What types of food and traps?

Blend garlic, mix in water and spray the farm.

It happens on my farm tooo I used 3 methods 1. Scarecrows... Cajole them with a feature like human 2. I bought poison/gamalin, mix with fried fish and spread on farm over night 3. I tied Mosquito net around the farm

They are gone and gone forever Note
Always clear bush around your farm and get rid of weeds on the farm
