This is the quotation that was given by the god for a vehicle that was just imported directly from UK. Barely one month when the vehicle was brought it was misfiring. The guy said the engine was totally gone. Imagine the pains of spending so much to bring down a vehicle and only for one god to tell u this. It only took a roadside mechanic to change the fuel pump and do a general service on the car. Now the coolant this guy said 22k was actually 12k. Now guys tell me if you owned this car and u were given a terrible diagnosis would you be happy?

1. Car came into nigeria in a no start condition.

2. Engine had been disassembled previous (in nigeria with owners knowledge) and as at when it was brought in was rattling, and had misfires.

3 vehicle came in dec very close to the festive period.

4. Fans had been connected directly

5.engine was running on water.



Rattling suggest mechanical damage, very common with failure of the oil cooler at the base of the engine.

Possible parts affected are.

* Crank shaft and bearings
* camshafts

Previous repair history unavailable.


2gr-fe engine, coolant capacity is over 6liters of coolant.

Toyota coolant comes in 4liter packs. 22,000 is for 2gallons of toyota coolant @ 11,000 per gallon.

You imported a vehicle in a no start condition.

I still stand by my diagnosis that and engine replacement is the best solution "LONG TERM" that a vehicle starts and moves, does not mean it is sound. I do not believe in patch here today and patch here tomorrow.

If you remember well you asked for my acc several times and even offered to drop the vehicle, but I declined.

if d mechanic dat fixed dat car, has given airex his own prediction, saying dat said car will never hv its engine changed or its still hv a life span of abt 5 more years, who do u think he wud or shud bliv, d engineer dat didn't gt d car to start cos he diagnosed dat d whole engine has to b changed or d engineer dat got d car to start without changing d engine and for lesser charge.

Car came in a no start condition into the country. Car was taken to else where to fix. Car was driven to workshop. I assessed car, and scribbled down some suggestions (that is not a proper invoice) now he claims fuel pump made a rattle go away.

You should wait for airex to explain how it went down before your long assumptions.
