Agimor:

Worship means the adoration given to God alone. In this sense Catholics don't worship Mary or any of the other saints. In fact, the Catholic Church forbids any adoration to be given to any one or any thing but God. But in an older use of the term "worship" could cover not just the adoration of God but also the honor given to anyone deserving of honor.

Begin with the word itself. It comes from the Old English weorthscipe, which means the condition of being worthy of honor, respect, or dignity. To worship in the older, larger sense is to ascribe honor, worth, or excellence to someone, whether a sage, a magistrate, or God.

But there are different kinds of worship, just as there are different kinds of honor. The highest honor, and thus the highest worship, is given to God alone, while the honor or worship given to living men or to saints in heaven is of a different sort. Idolatry thus does not simply mean giving worship (in the old sense) to living men or to saints; it means giving them the kind reserved for God.

Nowadays, there is a problem using the word "worship" because in the popular mind it refers to the worship of God alone. For practical purposes it has come to mean nothing else than adoration.

What of bowing down to images?

Ok, for those commenting on purgatory, a topic I said I won't go into but you leave me no choice.

First of all I do believe till my last breathe that Jesus Christ shed his blood on the cross for my sins in order to avoid damnation.

Secondly if I believe in purgatory that means Jesus Christ work on the cross is in vain. Why will I believe that going through torment after Jesus has done all the hard work will make me a candidate for heaven?

Finally, believing in such doctrine puts you in danger of damnation because you are denying the work Jesus did on the cross for you.

There is no such thing bro.

God is not the author of confusion.

Have you ever thought about this:

1. If Jesus wanted us to have no "affiliation" why would he talk about building his church (Matthew 16.18a)?
2. Also, if he did not want it to last why would he add that the gates of hell will not prevail against it (Matthew 16.18b)?
3. If Jesus wasn't serious about organizing his church why would he add that whoever does not gather with me scatters (Matthew 12.30b)?

I know that there is a lot of hypocrisy these days, but that is not an excuse for having no "affiliation". If the first disciples had thought the way you did, then, there would be no bible in the form that you now have it. Remember Paul laboured so much to "organize" his congregation and he certainly wanted anyone who bears the title "Christian" to have affiliation.

You may say the bible is your final authority. Sure. But the bible itself never makes such a claim for itself. But it does make that claim for the Church as being the final authority.
"if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God's household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth" (1 Timothy 3.15)

Hypocrisy abounds, but one must not let his heart be let down. As the saying goes, "hang in there buddy", for Christ has said, "fear not, be of good cheer. I have overcome the world (John 16.33)."

God is too wise to not entrust something as important as the gospel message to capable hands.

Think about it

What I mean by being with no affiliation is because different denominations are not entirely correct about their teachings. Simply put, I am a follower of Christ Jesus with no denomination affiliation.

Sir, God's interested in His Children prospering in all ways... ... . Spiritually, physically and materially.

Yesterday, my pastor preached about spiritual prosperity and it was an eye opener. And today physical prosperity. Wednesday material prosperity.

But to answer your question, the first week of May and the topic was simply 'Obedience'

God is more interested in his Children having eternal life with him in paradise instead of perishing in hell.

What would it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul?

Though bowing can be used as a posture in worship, not all bowing is worship. The Yorubas do prostrate while greeting elders, in Japan, people show respect by bowing in greeting (the equivalent of the Western handshake). Similarly, a person can kneel before a king without worshipping him as a god. In the same way, a Catholic who may kneel in front of a statue while praying isn’t worshipping the statue or even praying to it, any more than the Protestant who kneels with a Bible in his hands when praying is worshipping the Bible or praying to it.

My reply was based on this understanding. I get your point, even when it wasn't explicit. Ergo, I stand by my response.

Do you think its possible that God in his wisdom will put a little truth here, a little truth there, a little truth over there? The answer is NO. He is not the author of confusion. His whole truth is in ONE place. His Church, as he declared to Peter (as per my previous reply).
