shocked

They probably committed a mass suicide because of Wike's bad governance.

During Amaechi's days, all we heard from PH was good news.

You will never hear this kind of unfortunate event happening in developed countries but it is a "normal" thing in this country governed by evil, ambitious and selfish people who amass the wealth meant for the betterment and improvement of the living conditions of the masses for themselves. They are so hell bent on taxing our lives that if it were possible they would impose taxes on the air we breathe yet they cannot provide steady power supply despite all the foreign loans and IGR. People keep dying from generator fumes because of greedy, corrupt leaders. Why is the provision of steady power supply a herculean task for this government as with past governments even with all the human, financial and material resources at their disposal? How many more will be sacrificed to epileptic power supply and perpetual darkness before they realize it is a clear and present danger that must be tackled with the same zeal as one makes efforts to stop fire from destroying a building?

RIP to the family
what is wrong with some of you. granted there is no light provided by the government, is it the government responsibility to tell you where you should put your gen.? inferiority complex is nothing more than this. every little thing has to be measured against a country.

Can't government afford ambulances in this country?

Accident victim - hilux
Armed robber die - police hilux
okada man die - hilux
boko haram - hilux
even family of 6 - hilux

If rich man die too I no want to see SPDC ambulance -o!
The Nigerian masses are either unexposed or too tolerant of our government.
besides isn't this the job of paramedics other than policemen?

There is nothing about inferiority complex. The guy touched at d heart of the problem. What about the resultant pollution that comes from widespread use of gen that is slowly killing people. If we even suffer from inferiority complex it is understandable cos d life we live is inferior compared to what is obtainable in advanced countries. Electricity supply has become a rocket science for this doomed nation.
To make u know that many people keep dying in this doomed nation cos power i will relate to u what happened in my NYSC yr. For some reason I was rushed to accident and emergency ward in Lagos and spent over a week there. In my presence I saw 4 people die but I can authoritatively tell that 2 of deaths were caused by epilieptic power as their were on life support. Unfortunately, when the lights went off the medical staff all rushed out to handle incoming casualties I had to scream when I observe a woman was gasping for breath as d machine went off. One of the matron was quick to come on and apply cardiac massage why they were trying to on d gen. Sadly these woman died on d spot as she did not respond to d massage. Her husband who was even sent to buy what was not available in an ill equipped govt hospital only to come back and see his wife dead. The poor collapesed all at once and d breakble items he went to buy spilled.
I have been out of dat useless country and have had experienced uninterrupted power for d first 4 yrs of my life while in Nigeria I never had power for just 1 day of 24 hrs in my entire life. Look when u travel out of Nigeria to an advanced country then u will see from a very different perspective and that the life we live in Nigeria is truly inferior in all respect. Even if u re a professional in ur field u will look like a novice cos technology has revolutionize virtually every aspect of life that Nigeria is still centuries far begind and will never catch up.
Nigeria is cursed and far beyond redemption
Even when I try to defend Nigeria, the Bleep up of the country is too much to hide or defend. I was trying to defend Nigeria before my colleagues here who are not Nigerians and a videolink below was presented to me.
http://www.aljazeera.com/video/news/2017/04/nigeria-meningitis-outbreak-infects-thousands-170408115856520.html
Tell me how do u defend a useless country in all respect that is a waste of space that is not even better than Yemen or Somalia

Your leaders are not the problem. You are the problem. You allow it to happen. Come next election, more than half of you will be queuing up for garri and salt from candidates and then you turn around to complain. One idi.ot is already campaigning for an atiku2019 presidency right here on this forum and you all say you want a better life. Ok. Na so. Plus, Nigerians are generally bad. Which is why they will never bring forth a good leader. Just read some of the comments on this forum and you'll be shocked. And to think that there is a likely hood that one of them will be a leader in the country one day. What do you think he will do when he/she becomes one? Fayose was but a kid when OBJ was president. I'm sure he complained like you are right now. We are all witness to the kind of leader he is today. The worst of the worst.

Illiteracy is widespread in Nigeria, many people do not understand the disadvantages of having a generator within a few meters of a house. The worse part is that Nigerians don't mind having the generator on all night forgetting that wind can change the direction of the fumes from your neighbors house to your own bedroom.
Re: Decomposing Bodies Of Family Of 6 Discovered In Port-harcourt (photos) by mechanics(m): 3:11pm On Jul 04, 2017
It's crystal clear that it is the generator fumes the killed them, just don't know why people won't take simple instructions, if one does not use gen, the fumes won't will anyone, but to be leaving the gen at night is risky and keeping it close to the window.

This is an opportunity to stage a protest both offline and online but unfortunately, my brothers have been kept busy with series of tribal activities. It's not my family attitude, grace covers for us bla bla bla . I hope the evil that's been created will not catch up with us or loved ones only if you or loved ones doesn't use the power generating set . It irritates seeing people embrace activities like fraud, kidnapping , some will still give you excuse for terrorism and rituals etc. We need liberal minds in Africa at large. In situations like this, let's impose ourselves on the political class, create fear in senators with our protests clamoring in one voice on things like electricity and others. May the creator grant the family members fortitude to bear the loss.

They never see it that way. As if the leaders are from Mars imposed on them at gunpoint.
The other day I heard of one former minister here in Nigeria who embezzled funds and did nothing but in the UK he is now a celebrated professor in robotics. You see how he behaved himself in a sane society. He wont try half the crap he does here because no one will stand for such. Over here if he brings any new innovation people will shout him down and if he doesnt steal people will call him Mumu

There is more to this story than meets the eye. If they died from generator fumes, why is there blood on the floor? Was the generator in the same room with the deceased? Something is not right. If this was Ikorodu, we know who to blame.

The number of families falling victim to generator fumes is gradually becoming intolerable. Nigeria is indeed a failed state!

nextprince:
The incomplete combustion of hydrocarbons (fuel) emits very poisonous gaseous substance called carbon monoxide.
Carbon monoxide constitutes more than 80% of fumes and when inhaled for a fairly long time especially when asleep, you get suffocated as blood progressively gets depleted of its oxygen with carbon monoxide in its place.

Pls, keep generators far away from living apartments at all times not just when going to bed. Also, discourage the use of high fuming gens.

RIP to the departed
Imagine they were using solar power to generate electricity. It would have been a different case

The cost of solar equipment that can generate 1kva (same power as I-pass-my-neighbour) is not affordable to average Nigerians, hence the use of fossil fuel powered gen.
The environmental hazards posed by this set-up can still be managed and a good way of doing that is by simply avoiding the fumes and noise. This is achieved by keeping them fairly far away from living apartments.
This is where we are getting it wrong.

Note, the use of domestic electric power gens is a common feature of most developing countries like Nigeria. I don't subscribe to all the characteristics empty noise about non-use of gens in advanced countries some dry heads are posting on the thread.

How come they have been using the said generator for so long and died only now cos of the same generator

Well, autopsy prove the cause of death

Kudos to the police even with their peanut of a salary, they r still serving the nation

People let's be wise! Learn from this....Switch off your generator sets at night when going to bed. It's no use living all through the day only to wake up on the other side.

RIP to the family

So sad a way to die suffocating.

The couple were enjoying themselves oblivious of what was silently creeping in.

So sad again!
