''Vicky, what are your plans?'' Queen asked distracting Vicky from the Zee World programme she was engrossed in.

''what plans?'' she asked, her attention quickly returning to the programme.

''You made me lie to your husban...''

''Former husband'' Vicky corrected.

Queen raised her hand in mock surrender ''Alright, so you made me lie to Ken, that I know nothing about your where about which I did, so now what are your plans, what do you intend to do now?''

''Oh! I already contacted a lawyer, I'm filing for divorce'' she replied nonchalantly, throwing a groundnut into her mouth.

''You're a christian!'' Queen rasped.

''spare me that Ken is or was...anyone I don't care but he's a christian and he commited adultery, so why should I not do what I want?'' she said laughing; a strained laughter.

Queen grimaced ''Vicky, this isn't you''

''It's me Victoria, me, me, me'' she replied pointing at herself ''I'm a strong woman and a generous one at that, I've decided to leave Ken for Kath, they should be together not Ken and I'' she replied throwing her hands in the air.

''You are a child of God'' Queen baited and Vicky wrinkled her nose.

Chuckling, she yelled ''And Obviously Ken is a child of the devil''

Queen hesitated, then said quietly ''We will talk better, when the Vicky I know comes back''

''Oh, I'm right here'' she replied with a slight smile ''Look, Wow, I love that Sari that Sariswati is putting on'' she said happily, pointing to the televison.

Queen shook her head and left the sitting room

it was so obvious that Vicky wasn't in her right mind.


Vickly watched her friend leave and when she was finally out of sight, she lowered her head and let the tears that she's been trying to keep from falling, flow freely.

After two minutes of crying, she wiped her tears and stood up bravely. Time to do what is right and show Ken that she isn't as vulnerable as he thought she was.


She picked her phone and dialled a number.

''Are the divorce papers ready?''

Ken sat in the sitting room, looking helpless and ruffled.

He held his head, hoping that everything was a dream, a bad dream that he would soon wake up from.

A car honked outside the house and hissed, wishing that Kath won't carry her miserable self into his house again, after the hot-stinging slap he landed on her cheeks after she tried to kiss him and warm her way into his heart again.

''Kennedy'' someone barked from outside.

A small sound, a breathless sigh escaped Ken.

''Dad!'' he whispered and walked over to the door to let him in.

''Is this how you handle my company?'' his dad shouted as soon as he came in.

''Dad, I'm so...''

''sorry for yourself, If this was how I handled the company, you would not have seen any company talk more of handling one''

''Dad, I'm having some personal issues, I promise I will return back to work as soon as it's resolved'' he said as calmly as possible.

''Shut up! Is cheating on your wife a personal issue?'' his dad threw at him and he looked at him in surprise, wondering how he got to know.

''Da...

''don't dad me, you should never have gotten married if you knew that, that thing inbetween your legs was still controlling you'' his dad said obviously irritated.

Ken hands involuntarily flew there ''I cheated on my wife, but I feel guilty'' Finally, the moment of truth has arrived, he was tired, tired of keeping silent ''Remember that you brought in a heavily pregnant woman into the house as a second wife just 3 months after mums death'' he replied bitterly.

His dad looked at him angrily.

''Oh! Yes! You did, so stop playing Saint'' Ken said calmly, enjoying the feel of his new found confidence.

''Kennedy''

''Yes dad, you are in no position to judge me'' he replied holding his gaze.

His dad raised his hand to slap him but he caught it in Mid-air.

''Dad, I'm not 5 nor 20 nor 25, I'm a 30 year old man, henceforth remember that'' Ken said and pushed his dad's hands away from him.

His dad dropped his hand to his side but he couldn't stop staring at his son.

After some minutes of awkward silence, he finally said ''Your wife filed for divorce and your step mum and I are fully in support''

''Oh no!'' he muttered, placing his hand on his chest.

''Ken you were and still is, very, very irresponsible'' His dad replied without any feeling.

''Dad get out before I do something i will regret'' he yelled at his dad ''I hate you, I inherited everything from you, Like father like son''

With a shrug '' Ken, we are in support of the divorce'' he said and walked away while Ken glared at him.

''How could they support this? How could they? And why is Vicky filing for divorce, when everything can be settled amicably between us'' he asked hitting the chair angrily.

Thinking deeply ''If his dad and step mum knows everything, then his wife must be with them''

With a deep determination to meet with his wife and apologize to her again, he grabbed his car keys and left in that ruffled and unkempt state.
