NIGERIANS DONT LIKE WASTING RESOURCES SO THEY TURNED THE UNFORTUNATE ANIMAL TO MEAL BUT THEIR COUNTERPARTS PREFER TO RISK TURNING THEMSELVES TO MEAL

If I was there I will do same.
Cultures differ.
If a white man is not interested in eating a whale what's my business.
There are a lot of things he eats I don't.

What has the whites copied from us.

Whites love animals more than the love humans.
Here it is vice versa.
Keep your animal love one side Abeg.

The stark contrast between both pictures has nothing to do with hunger, the pictures depicts the difference in culture of both people, it is a mentality thing. While the Whites have gotten to that stage where they see nature in a different light, they understand the importance of protecting, exploring, and respecting it, Africans still have this "consume - consume" mentality. I can tell you most of those with cutlass butchering that whale have food waiting for them at home. But immediately they saw the whale, the only thing they are thinking is 'I must eat it!'. It is the way our head is wired here.

So many lies told against Nigeria, so sad. And, possibly, this may go beyond just unethical Bloggers cutting, pasting and manipulating negative news up and down internet in order to garner traffic. Do you know that while reading though responses on You tube concerning some Irish woman destroying her supposedly cheating Nigerian man's store in Ireland (of course, this was yet another opportunity to insult Nigerians and people did) i came across a commentator who stated, "yes, lets tarnish them (meaning Nigeria/Nigerians) as much as we can" undecided

...and, no, i don't believe it was IPOB, such are the hallmarks of a certain West African nation i won't mention because there's no proof just hunch

The manner at which we apotheosize the Whites in this part of the continent is sickening to say the least. As one of the earlier posters rightly asked, are some of these Whites not guilty of indiscriminate killing of wildlife as well? If such wasn't an active phenomenon on their shores then they wouldn't have a subculture of “animal activists”, would they? It's even less humane on their end because unlike their “whale-marauding” counterparts on African soil, these Whites are reputed for killing mainly for the thrills and spills of the sport.

Besides, is it practical wisdom for one in this part of the world where hunger and poverty are as commonplace as stretch marks on a puckered, corpulent arse, to think about preserving whales that have been washed ashore by the hands of good fortune? Fortune has smiled upon these men and they were prudent enough to act upon it. These whales, if and when sold could fetch one some reasonable rolls of banknotes, and whatever might be left of it, mama Sikira could have marinated in steaming, mouth-watering pepper soup for our consumption. Preservation of whales my sooty ass!

In the face of hunger, you won't think of saving whales; you will only think of eating them.

People blaming this atrocious behaviour on hunger are not doing justice. Its our mind set that makes us hungry. There is enough to go round, yet we just accumulate more than what we need. We need to change our value system. It is very painful seeing this
There's enough to go round where? Get off your high horse.

Known as the grindadráp, the brutal slaughtering of pilots whales in the Danish owned Faroe Islands took place yesterday. As many as 250 whales were reportedly massacred on two beaches in Bøur and Tórshavn as locals used spinal lances to slay all of the pilot whales.
